That looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more like a G6 than a G35. Matter fact, I'll take some arse pictures of both cars. They're friggin identicle.
And, if the new Altima coupe was RWD, it'd definately cut into the sales of the 350Z. Reason being, it has back seats. And, it'd cut into the sales of the G. Nissan new what they were doing.
A LOT of people (self included) wish there was a 350Z with back seats. In steps the "Infinity" G35. However, your already high payments now increase by about 150bux. A RWD Coupe w/rear seats is what Nissan NEEDS. But, they'd be shooting too cars in teh foot by doing it.
I'm not sure how many people have driven the 2.5s Altima version, but it's no slouche by ANY standards. It's one of the most responsive 4bangers out there (and one of the biggest I think). If the Altima coupe came in 2.5 and 3.5 RWD versions, I really think it'd be a market takeover. Remember, the 240 that everyone craves so much was a 4. While the KA needed a Nissan boost (aka turbo), the boosted SR was amazing in stock form. However, the biggest problem Nissan runs into is that guys/girls like us make up a SMALL portion of the buying community. People either want HELLA big or HELLA eco. Most of us are riding in older cars that have been modded (or at least look the part) to high heaven. And most of us don't buy brand new cars even when we can, unless it's very special (i.e., Evo, WRX, 350Z kinda, SRT-4, etc...)
