I like it. Looks pretty damn good.
I think the tail-lights are oversized, but that's it. Otherwise, a great looking car. Trunk lid is funny though.
Utilizing Nissan's formula of recycling the same thing over and over again. It's essentially a FWD G35 Coupe with new taillights and an Altima front end. I don't think it looks bad, but I'm getting a little tired of seeing Nissan release cars that are just a collaboration of the their other models.

I have the 3.5L SE w/ CVT sedan on loan at the moment. Real solid cars and quick too.
Here's a photoshop I did of it...

That's probably because it looks just like the G35 coupe which is RWD.Originally Posted by The Youngn

That'd cannibalize the sales of the 350Z/G35 Coupe. There's no point in making it rear wheel drive. This is just Nissan's answer to the Accord Coupe and the Toyota Solara...Originally Posted by The Youngn

exactly have u seen the new GTR it look like a deformed 350Z...its ugly as hell
but then nissan has never blown me away with looks, now Datusn thats a diffent story
It's not even close to a hit. Nissan already has the 350Z, so there was no reason to release a 2DR Altima. The new Altima is ugly enough as it is (inside and out). Nissans have one of the worst interiors out of all the import automakers, imo. Everything is plastic.Originally Posted by ironchef
I like the Maxima, though I don't know about Nissan's corporate grille...blah.
Also, why are all the interiors only offered in the drab, dark, black? How many can you get with that orange leather? Or is that just available on the Infinitis?
looks too much like a tc to me, i don't really like it
For the mass buying public fwd vs rwd doesn't mean shit.Originally Posted by nreggie454
And no it wont cannabilze sales of the 350z, because the 350z is a "true" sports coupe, while this is just a sporty coupe with back seats. And it won't cannabilize sales of the g35, because if you could afford a g35, then you would get that, not only for the better looks, bigger/better engine, rwd, better interior, but also for the better service that infiniti provides.
I meant that if it was RWD, it would take away from the sales of the 350Z...at least regarding the conspicuous consumers of that car.
You're right about the G35 though. I think I just mentioned that since that and the 350Z are platform-mates.

I don't like it, but I know it will sell well. Nissan is missing out on that small segment of 4 person coupes, so this will secure a section of that market. It is basically the retarded, ugly, and cheap kissing cousin of the G35 coupe.
G37s 6MT/coupe
who said a hit? The altima has been selling like hot cake. atleast the last model..
So the altima has been a hit.. Nice car.. to bad they will prolly get played out.
Bingo, all their cars look the same. G35c forums are pretty upset that now an Altima looks just like their car.Originally Posted by Ran

Ugh...I can't stand Nissan's grille. The new one is only slightly better.
Might be my next new car. They go on sale May 25th.
...speaking of G35 v. Nissan, isn't the G35 just a rebadged skyline?
Yes, our Infiniti G35 is the Nissan Skyline 350GT in Japan.Originally Posted by XanRules

And, if the new Altima coupe was RWD, it'd definately cut into the sales of the 350Z. Reason being, it has back seats. And, it'd cut into the sales of the G. Nissan new what they were doing.
A LOT of people (self included) wish there was a 350Z with back seats. In steps the "Infinity" G35. However, your already high payments now increase by about 150bux. A RWD Coupe w/rear seats is what Nissan NEEDS. But, they'd be shooting too cars in teh foot by doing it.
I'm not sure how many people have driven the 2.5s Altima version, but it's no slouche by ANY standards. It's one of the most responsive 4bangers out there (and one of the biggest I think). If the Altima coupe came in 2.5 and 3.5 RWD versions, I really think it'd be a market takeover. Remember, the 240 that everyone craves so much was a 4. While the KA needed a Nissan boost (aka turbo), the boosted SR was amazing in stock form. However, the biggest problem Nissan runs into is that guys/girls like us make up a SMALL portion of the buying community. People either want HELLA big or HELLA eco. Most of us are riding in older cars that have been modded (or at least look the part) to high heaven. And most of us don't buy brand new cars even when we can, unless it's very special (i.e., Evo, WRX, 350Z kinda, SRT-4, etc...)
