Awesome hatch man. :D :goodjob:  :bump:

nice, i love the color! it turned out great... awesome car dude
Thanks again for the props guys.
Hybrid Racing has everything working nicely now and it's on the way back to me. I will reinstall everything and have her towed for exhaust install. Once that is complete I will enjoy her for a few days and maybe get some vdieo footage and posted as well.
I also went through and resized the build pics for posting before she was completed. I will begin to post pictures later this evening to get you guys up to speed on what went down the week before the completion.
Thanks again for all the props :goodjob:
:police:

Remove bracket "B" to modify since this is the best bracket to use:

Take the hammer and hit the bracket to flatten it out like so:

I don't know what the bolt is for. It's a 10mm bolt that was holding nothing in place. Maybe before I took the car apart it had a purpose. But, it's in the perfect spot:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6451_rs25.jpg
Nice clearance:

Closer look at the cable routing at the crossmember:

Another clearance shot. I don't have a pic with the header installed, but the clearance is really good on my SSR header

Inside the bay:

Closer look at the tranny connection (my father shortened the cotter pins for weight reduction :boobies: j/k....he said the length was not correct)

Hope that helps anyone with questions about routing and mounting K series shifter cables
Thanks for looking and more to come :bannana:

are you serious?
so you're still posting pics of its progression. but its not in your posession any longer?

You must of misread something because I still have the car. Just sent the wiring and kpro out to resolve the O2 problem..... I'm awaiting the return of the wiring and kpro and then I can drive her :goodjob:Quote:

Session 047 Part 2 of 2:
Modifying the K20a2 engine harness:
There is a lot of clips to remove from the harness:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6396_rs27.jpg
First remove the large white one:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6397_rs35.jpg
Just unclip it:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6398_rs35.jpg
Slit the rubber grommet:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6399_rs35.jpg
Comes off like so:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6400_rs35.jpg
There are 3 of the little green plastic clips that you can remove:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6401_rs25.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6402_rs35.jpg
Pry using a flat tip screwdriver to open each one up to remove:

How I routed the engine harness to the cabin. That is the heater coolant opening at the firewall. The hole has NOT been modified:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6408_rs35.jpg
Looking at the same hole from the cabin:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6409_rs35.jpg
D series harness:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6430_rs35.jpg
Wire #1 -- Plug "B" (green/yellow wire) - A7
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6432_rs35.jpg
Cut the wires like so &
Wire #2 -- Plug "B" (green/orange wire) - A13
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6435_rs35.jpg
Wire #3 -- Plug "D" (green/red) - D10
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6436_rs35.jpg
If you unwrapped the engine harness you have this fuster_cluck:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6438_rs35.jpg
Pull the wires you just cut back through so you have length to work with:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6439_rs35.jpg
Oxygen Sensor wiring......
The 4 wires on the conversion harness:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6440_rs35.jpg
Strip the plastic to expose some wire:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6441_rs35.jpg
I don't have the opposite plug to mate with the O2 so I cut the harness off the new sensor. I screwed up by cutting all the four wires even. It's been said the 2 black wires are both grounds so not a big deal to get them mixed up. But, if you have to cut the wires......cut them at different lengths :2cents:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6442_rs35.jpg
Hybrid Racing Harness --------- Primary Oxygen Sensor
Green ------------------------- White
Red --------------------------- Light Green or Blue if you have the Denso sensor
White ------------------------- Black
Black -------------------------- Black
Cosmetic caps that really make a difference:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6446_rs35.jpg
Put them just about everywhere including the studs of the roll bar:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6445_rs35.jpg
Everything was torqued down and torque stripe added for easy visual check ups:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6459_rs35.jpg
Clutch line install. Not sure if the teflon tape was needed or not
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6462_rs35.jpg
Thanks for looking :police:
nice progress!
dope keep it coming
bump for an awesome thread
keep it coming bro...
I love **** like this.
awesome! i am going to copy you on your motor swap process... taking out each bolt and putting the same bolts that go to that part in a ziplock bag and labeling the bag... that way i dont lose any bolts, lol.
Yes, that will save you headaches down the road :yes:Quote:

Well, I think the headache is finally over. While down in Savannah (yesterday / 1 day) I stopped by a muffler shop who had just what I needed :goodjob:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6267_rs35.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6268_rs35.jpg
Plenty of clearance for the 3" piping:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6269_rs35.jpg
I'm going to clean her up nicely:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6271_rs35.jpg
Shop also gave me the donut gasket. It's not quite wide enough to fit over the DTR flange. I'm going to see if Summit has one that will clear the flange. If not, I'll dremel this one out to make it work:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6274_rs35.jpg
Without the donut gasket:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6275_rs35.jpg
Ahhhhhhh, that looks nice:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6272_rs35.jpg
Hand tightened, YES!!! The 2 spring bolts I have on hand will work :bump:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6276_rs35.jpg
Got to get new nuts though:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6277_rs35.jpg
This is with the flange pushed all the way to bottom. Once centered the gap is gone:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6278_rs35.jpg
These are the springs / bolts I used. Not sure if they are from a D or B series. But, they should do the job:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o..._6279_rs35.jpg
Now I've got to find a day when I can get this installed, then stop for an alignment, emissions...... then I'll be ready to take on the S/C TSX
Thanks for looking & up we go :police:
yo you gonna be in tenn. this week end???
Very nice car. :goodjob:
Must be the Nashville meet? Too bad I have to work :(Quote:

He eventually notices me behind him and down shifts (smoke came from the exhaust as he switched to the far left lane taking off). I also down shifted and just rode his a$$ because there were cars in the other 2 lanes. I couldn't even give it 100% or I would of smacked his rearend. He eventually saw he couldn't leave me and pulled back to the middle lane. I then cruised by as he had a :) on his face. My :) was X10 bigger. Unfortunately I had to get off the exit for the alignment so never got to get side by side. Here is the one pic I snapped of the GT:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...52007_rs50.jpg
Then I made it to the alignment shop and snapped a few pics:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...07025_rs50.jpg
Then when riding back down 19-41, I see this Mugen Si. So I U turn and back to see it. Guys name is Sam. Pretty cool guy. Supposed to meet up for a shoot today and possibly some runs against it:

Thanks guys for the props. The car sounds pretty good. Not to loud, yet very deep tone. At WOT the exhaust screams
A couple pics I snapped yesterday and used a free online photo editing site to enhance them. May have enhanced the brick wall one a little too much :taun:

Ran the DA w/GSR/Type R head yesterday. Got a few runs on video, but I can't find the camcorder cable or software :gay: So, I ordered a new cable and hopefully will be able to upload the vid using windows movie maker.
Thanks for looking & stay tuned for a lot more to come :police:
dam that mugen si, looks like it has all type of goodies on it... looks better in person..
u think its worth the price now that you have seen it in person?
That mugen civic is sexxxxxxxxxxxxxxy! I didn't know they had released yet.
Wow that was amazing. I just spent like 2 hours reading all this. Awsome job on everything and paying attention to detail. even the little things make a big difference. K swap in the EG FTW
that has to be the most complete color swap i have ever seen. one question why go thru all that trouble and not paint the door handle's and mirror's?
Damn i want more haha keep us updated with some more! If i had the money i swear id do this to my DA.
damnit hybrid93hatch you got to that spot to take pics before me!!!! that pic off of 42 in locust grove?
