    so is the mark8 equipped w/ an 03/04 setup or just a dohc4.6 mated w/ a 6spd?

    I'm not sure what you mean by 03/04 setup. It's a stock Mark VIII drivetrain (dohc 4.6 IIRC) with a 6spd and hubs/brakes from a Mustang Cobra. It's the only 6spd Mark VIII on the planet as far as he knows and he did it all himself. He's gonna turbo it probably once he graduates and gets a daily driver. It's got like 230k miles so he doesn't want to blow it up while it's his only car.
