    Default box question

ive got somewhat of a large sealed box for single 10" and i was wondering if getting a smaller vented one would improve the sound?

with a vented box, you usually go big. sealed usually is small. Check your owners manual for your sub. It will tell you the optimal size for each setup.

wouldnt having a smaller vented box hit harder bc its smaller and open?

oh and another question: what is the best positioning for a sub? ive always had mine facing outwards where the trunk opens up but ive seen ppl position it off to the side facing the opposite side, or sometimes backwards so that all u see is the back of the sub. suggestions?

smaller vented box will be peaky, larger smoother. as a general rule point the subs back. Its not perfect for every application, but as a general rule a thumb gow ith that.
