Default sub setup in the trunk

alright - right now my car has a single 8in sub - I plan on have two 8s ( yea yea, small, but I personally like how they can have just the right kick factor for me )

anyways, they're going to be put in home made triangle sub boxes like |_\ ( if you can picture it )

now - my trunk has an odd shape

    --------

its something to that effect - right now, I have the single 8 in the bottom left corner, but I was wondering, which is the best setup sound wise? one in the opposite corner? should I have them facing upwards at all? What about having them located at the top ( behind the backseat directly ) - does it really make any acoustical difference to where the subs are pointing directionally? - I'm not trying to enter any audio competition ( obviously ) but its more for personal satisfaction - any tips and info are mucho appreciated

and no, I'm not getting a sub box with 2 10s

-edit- so my diagram didnt come out as planned but hmm... just envision it wider - I'll try to get a good trunk pic of the car for further reference

with a sub that small have you thought about downfiring them from the rear deck?

You can face the subs in just about any direction you want, but for the best results I would say fire them back and up at about a 45deg angle.
