only way you got even close to that score was on the old audio control. It definately was not on the term-lab.

May have been this was back in 03, technology has changed since then. You can bring your meter over and we can see what my 12w7 with a Alpine V12 1000 watt hits in a 89 Volvo wagon. With this weak amp I bet I still hitting in the mid to high 130's...

    W6v2's > W7
L7 > Solo X because of price toperformance ratio
    aidiopawn = garbage
MTX 9500 = very nice and not overlyexpensive
memphis = ok entry level gear except for the belle

Was this focus hatch at Nopi 2 years ago. Blue in color.

Also LOL at everything Transaxle said in this thread, clearly has no clue to car audio.

    155 with 2 W7 10's LMFAO

Anyone with even a slight knowlege of car audio knows thats a straight up lie. I doubt you even know what 155 sounds like on the audiocontrol 180, not to mention the 190 or the TL.

hahaha, I was trying to be nice. People talk about all these subs... I have had most of the mainstream big boys... I am happiest I have been in a long time with 2 IDQ 10s. guess what those hit on the meter?

    I love the IDQ's

2 IDQ 10's and 400-600rms? I would guess 135-138 legal considering those are really meant for a sealed enclosure so I would guess they were sealed.

Ive thought about doing a wow system by being loud with like 2 10's or maybe a single 12, but at the same time, I've always wanted to do a crazy install with like 8 subs, a ton of fiberglass and 4-5 amps. Decisions, decisions.

haha no way. I think they are 150 watts RMS. prolly won't even register on a meter. BUT... they sound better than any other sub mentioned on here for enjoying music.

not to knock the IDQ, but my personal fav SQ sub is the IDMAX. better low end extention.

agreed but the reason I went with IDQ is because they are so freakin light and you can put them in .25 cuft box for each one. Also, the IDQ represent more what the music should sound like. My system sounds better than most without subs. I just wanted a little bit extra.

Another point that I think has been overlooked in this thread... and the above is an example of. There is NO perfect overall sub. Totally depends on needs, application and budget. My budget is higher than most on here... I sprung for Utopia Be 3 ways.... but the IDQ were actually pretty cheap.

BTW, I made a statement about my budget to make a point... not to brag. I problably cound of had any subs I wanted. The ones I got were $160.00 each and they are the perfect subs for what I am looking for. Lots of great subs out there. One of my favorite all around subs is the Alpine R. not the most expensive but does a helluva job.

Also as an FYI for most people looking at Image dynamics. I don't think the IDQ is a good fit for most people with systems. These are not good subs to "show off" and be "loud" with. The IDMAX will be a much better multipurpose but incredible sounding sub that would be amazing for most people/posters on this board.

I understand exactly what you are saying. If I ever attend a meet or show that you are at I would love to hear your car. I'm still a big fan of big bass and SPL, but I am slowly moving more and more into the SQ area. Definately not competition quality SQ, but a decent 5.1 for movies and something balanced and clean for music.

you do know tsw-5000spl are comp subs dont you? They sound like complete ass. They can handle crazy power, have crazy excursion and move a shitload of air. But they sound like a wet nacho fart with music.

hey man for the money the best you will get for your money is mtx 4500,5500, are the best mtx ive heard and the 12's. if your lookin to spend alooooootttttt. go with the kicker solo baric l7's the 06 model 12's in those also with one or two 1000-1 kicker amp, another exspensive stereo would be the jl w7's 12's. with again one or two jl1000-1 amps. but like every one else is saying its all bout the money. for the two mtx and amp to push will be bout 700 dollars, for the kicker about 1000-1500 depending on how many amps you get, and the jl bout the same just a little more.
