window tint question

i know this has nothing to do with audio, but does anyone know the whole deal with window tinting in georgia now? i've heard a couple different things about how it was, or wasn't illegal and stuff. i was interested in doing 5%'s but i also don't want problems with cops.

some cops care, some dont. ive got 20% and ive sat by cops....never said anything...
but then my dad had 5% and got 3 tickets. so like i said..some care some dont...

but ifyou wanted something a little bit darker than 35% but not too dark, do the 15% or the 20%.

35% on the front windows, you can go as dark as you want on the rear. I've got 15% all the way around and I havent had a problem.

the law has actually changed when it was reinstated this last time.. its 35% all the way around now, with the exception of factory tint. ive gotten a ticket for 20% on my civic not to long ago

I didnt even know that, either did the Paulding County cop that I was talking to about it this past weekend.

actually to be technical its 32% + or - 3%

I enforce the law everyday and to my knowledge is that cars are 35% all the way around except the windshield. now for SUV's 35% on the front windows to completely black for the rest of them. hope this helps

yeah it was a more recent thing. the GSP that gave me my ticket that measured my front and rear windows was nice enough to tell me my car was in violation all the way around

I wont fault a cop for hitting you with a ticket for tint if he is pulling you for something else. But a while back a few guys I roll with in the lawrenceville area got pulled over strictly for their tint. Those are assholes.

my teg aint tinted yet, but my del sol was like double limo and i wish they would pull me over.......they give you that whole i cant see you thing, im like shit i cant see u either.... 99% of the cops i have come in contact with are racist assholes.....took my boyz license for a year talkin bout he was racing a green civic..completely lied in court...shit pisses me off every single fucking day....but its not right for me to generalize cause i kno a few friends that are cops.....but then again that makes up my 1%.....btw it also has A LOT to do with where u live....i dont know one person here in henry county that has got pulled over for that, but a million ppl in gwinett....
