they work only if you have upgraded the rest of your electrical system.....i.e. battery...alternator.....wiring.....try 2.0 farad at first...them improve on that to a second battery with an isolator to help support your system.....they have a purpose..but it's useless without the proper steps.....

before you upgrade your alt upgrade your big 3. If you are only running 1500 watts your stock should be able to handle it.

    your big 3 are:

    alternator to battery pos.
    battery neg to frame
    frame to engine block

after that, upgrade your battery to a gel cell or dry cell battery

    then alternator
    then additional batteries.

Yup...i meant pointless in his situation with only 1500 watts.

Big 3 and a battery and you should be fine. My system is in the 1500ish watts range and all I have is my Optima Yellow Top and my electrical system is stable. Ill get around to the Big 3 one of these days

Yes, you basically upgrade the current stock wiring in thoose locations. You dont have to remove the old stuff just add another larger wire run. Most people would be fine with a 4awg Big 3 upgrade. Some people choose to do 0awg, but im not convinced that large of wire is completely neccesary for most systems.

If you check out www.edesignaudio.com they have some Big 3 kits. They are slightly more than pieceing together all the wire and connectors yourself, but this way you know everything is included.

yea, you just want to upgrade the factory 10awg. depending on the size of your system, you either want to add a second run of 8,4,or 1/0

I have never personally used it, but i havent heard any real complaints from people I know that have it.

I use RAAMmat, check out www.raamaudio.com the owner Rick is a deadening genius, plus his prices are very very reasonable.
