    Default jl amps are overheating

    i just had some concerns about how hot my amps were getting. i have a jl 500/1 with a jl w6v2 and a jl 300/2 with some focals. the amps are almost too hot to touch. are they supposed to be this hot or is there a way to cool them down. any kinda advice would be great. thanks

    do you have plenty of ventilation to both amps, what size power and grounds?

    18x9 +24 18x10+22

    Hey, check all your wiring to ensure everything is tight including power and ground wires. Had one customer that their wires were lose on their capacitor and their JL Audio 1000/1 was too hot to touch. Like Lanning said, ensure they have enough room to breath. Make sure you have atleast true 4 gauge running to the back and true 8 gauge to the amps. Also, at they V1 amps or V2? V1 JL Audio amps had an issue running hot.

    never had any heat issues with the slash series amps. check you gain and bass boost setting, on the amp.
