Default What yall think about the Pioneer DEH-2200UB

So is it good or bad? Im thinking about putting it in my s2k and I can get a real good deal on it, but first I wanna know if its worth it. Heres a link
*NOTE* I am getting a better deal than Crutchfield is selling it for.

Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.

I would honestly rock the stock ap2 deck over that. Look into a used higher end deck. I just got a couple year old 9855 alpine for $180 that is going in my S2000 in the spring time. Thing is mint.

Also consider you will have to pay about $100 to get the modifry unit which allows you to reuse the dash radio controls.

I guess I would just never put such a low end headunit in the S2000.

The 2200UB just started shipping....its a brand new unit for 2010. Prolly not too many on the street yet. Its based off the 2009 model DEHP-2100IB....not exactly the same, but in the same category/price range.

Not sure what features you want/need out of a radio, but the 200 is pretty nice/good for its price range. Maybe the budget would allow a few more duckets for a 4100UB or 4200UB. Of course, that depends on your needs....

You can retain the dash controls....we (like many) have done it several times at the shop.

What are you looking for in a headunit? Have you had a nice stereo system in a different car in the past?

i have the DEH-1100MP, and even though its pretty much the entry level headunit in pioneer i have no problems with it. it works quite well. i definitely couldnt complain about the $100 price tag either.

the aux port is all i really cared about which is has. if you run a system it might not be the best however. there is no option to turn the sub on or off. you can either just turn the bass down or the "loud" function off.

I am not going to bash pioneer, just their bottom of the barrel headunits. I had the equivalent model, a couple years back in my festiva, and the preouts did not work at all, and after a couple of months each button took on a different role and was not fixed by resetting it.

Like I mentioned before, the stock s2000 headunit is not the least bit bad, it just lacks versatility. It is just my experience that spending any less than $150 does not go too far in the long run.
