Default speaker cutting in and out

if the rear speaker in my del sol cuts in and out(some days it works, some days it doesnt), does that mean that the wiring is bad? or perhaps the speaker is bad? or maybe there is a loose wire?

Could be a loose wire, loose tinsel lead on the speaker, speaker terminal grounding to the chassis sometimes, a wire that has had the insulation rubbed through to the copper and it is sometimes grounding out. Just have to track down the problem. Too many possibilities to tell you for sure.

    What he said...

Plus, it could be within the head unit (or amplifier) itself. You can pull the head-unit, and connect a different speaker directly to it....that would potentionally elimiate the existing wiring and speaker.

yea, got it fixed. it turns out that the speakers are just going bad. i changed out the speakers from the front with the ones in the back and it worked perfectly. i thought that if the speaker was going bad, then it wouldnt work period....or it would pop. guess not. anybody have any reccomendations for a good reasonablly priced 6.5" speaker?

i was looking at the pioneer TS-G1642R (44.99)
