Default Need some imput on a sub and an amp

What do you guys think about these? I'm new to car audio and looking to buy my first system soon. My friend has this setup and it hits pretty hard in his jeep cherokee, good enough for me anyway. I'll most likely be putting it in a 1999 Mercury Sable , free car from parents ftl. Anyway here they are...

    The sub

    The amp

    Thanks

never installed the subs at work before...

The amp on the other hand I have.....peice of crap.

If your looking for quaility you have to stick with the names you know. Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker....so on.

I'll be honest...some of the cheapest junk off ebay hits the hardest...but sounds like crap...and last all of a couple months. lol

    my as an installer

Alternator, Battery, stock wiring from alt to battery, battery to ground, engine to ground. You'll want a high output alternator.

After startup your car runs on your alternator. Bigger system you are drawing more amps. Need more output.

Up grade your big 3. alt to battery, battery to chasis ground, battery to block ground, and the alt ground.

that will help. go with a yellow top or somthing stronger that the stock battery. I don't think you will need to upgrade the alt. same alt and wiring set up as the contours and cougars if not mistaken.

What you need is some jl audio and a good amp. Jl audio is pricey, but it will satisfy you. If you are looking at 500 dollars, just buy jl audio.

JL makes some very nice gear, but there is SO much better out there for the price.
