type-x v. w7

so i've pretty much got my entire system planned out and i'm stuck between two subs. i'm lookin at the alpine type-x 10 and the 10w7. so any input would be great on the two subs. i'm also planning on running an 800 watt mono amp on either sub.

W7 will murder an Alpine Type X.... sorry... I use to have a type X... switch to the W7... i have one for sell

w7,all the way i also used to have a type x, and 800 watts will make it sound like crap, the w7 is a better all around speaker.

I agree with everyone else here.

The W6v2 is more on par with the type x as far as loudness and power handling. The W6v2 is the best sounding of the subs though.

ive thrown a 1000rms at a type X and it handled it just fine and sound great in the right enclosure, same as a w7. IMO you cant go wrong with either one just the W7 looks better, lol

db drive is absolute garbage. Your friend doesnt know **** about car audio so i would advise ignoring everything he says on the subject.

Look at Arc Audio. Ive heard good things from people with them, Rollinstyle2004 on here has a full Arc set up

but I would go with the W7, have heard it's the best

arc is good.... yeah.. DB drive....garbage.... cheap garage.... I mean i've seen people have 4 DB drive 15's and watch them blow on a quantum audio 3000.1

Kind of a dumb comparison considering the price of those two....... they're both great subs but a type x will not get nearly as loud. Actual sq will be pretty similar, type-x's do sound very very good but a w7 is obviously going to be a much louder sub. Neither will dissapoint you but I've always personally thought JL products are way overpriced.
