Going with a new setup in a few weeks in my Cobalt.

    Old = 2 Alpine Type-E 10" with Alpine M850 amp in a crappy pre-fab sealed box.

New = 2 Digital Designs 1510 with the same amp in a custom ported box.

Looking for ~120-130db. Not bad for a daily driver.

my system is gone, but a few years ago I was running 2 RE XXX 15's in 10cu tuned to 33hz.

    I did a solid 147.1 at 38hz with 2500wrms for the pair.

My system is getting overhauled, but last time I put a meter in it, I did 149.8
That was with 4 10" Diamond Audio M6 subs sealed with 600 watts total.

Also, that was with the sytem playing for only 30 minutes before testing. I am sure with more tuning and woofer break in, I could have been closer to 151 or so...

Also, this is all in my sound quality car.

yea that was on the TL. The biggest thing that hurt me was the low tuning. A 38hz burp isnt going to give you a high score without some serious wattage.

A good friend of mine that I designed an SPL box for did 151.6 on the TL with a single XXX15 and my US Amps DE-3000. That box was 3.9cu tuned to 51 hz and he burped at 63

is that on the TL or the AC meter?

If I ever get back into SPL I will definately use a hatchback. The rear area is formed perfectly to focus all sound forward and it leads to big numbers.

Jimmy: AC meter with a 100hz filter... very seldom do you see a TL meter in SQ.... Mostly, I figure, is that we also do RTA testing (a least we did back then).

when I redo my system I've been planning on doing 4 DD 3512's, but I keep hearing good things about the FI subs. Before I buy I might need to get ahold of you to hear them.

Jimmy: Take a look at T3 subs also....worth a look IMO. They "might" not fit exactly what you are trying to do, but they might...

they are definately pretty woofers. Not really the power handling I'm looking for, but they look to be built pretty solid. It will be a while before I can get the system put back together, but I'll definately look into them. Do you know anyone thats running them now?

I know a few SQ guys that have them. A friend has 2 10s in the floor of his F250 truck. I just picked up 5 of the TS10s for my Eclipse, and I am installing a set of TSS15s in a Rodeo over the next few weeks.

are you a dealer for them or what? I'd never even heard of them before you mentioned them. I was looking at the TSS line. Do you have a set of the TS parameters for the TSS 12's? I didnt see anywhere on the site that had them.

clash of titans is using an outdated meter. You will be anywhere from 7-12 db lower on the TL depending on the freq you burp at. I would guess you are on the high side of that range with the gear you are using.

    When I was into it, I hit a 147.6 dB off of 2 12w6's running off a 800.2 Rockford amp...people were amazed.

I have not had a system for years nor do I know the best audio setup for SPL. I put my old car on the meter twice. The first time was at Traffic Jams in Buford at their old location on 20 (that should tell you how long it has been). It was 3 12w6s in a sealed box with 1 cubic foot per sub and an MTX pro3002 amp. I hit 147 with that setup in a 1994 accord. Later I entered DB drag that was at Circuit City in Duluth but I had blown my amp so I was using on of my friends amps, an oldschool rockford 500m. I hit 143 with it and the same subs.

    I ran a elvs Memphis 15 on a Memphis 1000D @ 14.4volts

It hit 157 on one sub at the db drag.

New plans are 2 10" old school Planet big bangs in a ported box run off a old school planet big bang amp.

Should hit a 153-156 easy on about 1000 watts.

I'm going to call BS on this until you give alot more info on box and freq, among other things. Even after that I will most likely call BS on it. No way in hell you are burping 157 with 1kw on a TL meter.

In a 98' Dodge Durango we are running 2 of the new Memphis Mojo 15's in a 20 cube box tuned at about 44hz powered by a Rockford T4000.1bd at 2 ohms, 250amp ohio generator alternator, opitma red top battery under the hood, 2 runs of 0 gauge to a kenetic HC800 mounted near the amp.

No clue about the numbers, the system has been changing so often that it never really stays the same long enough to be tested. I'll be changing again pretty soon so who knows.
