Im Looking at getting a single 12" Kicker L7 2-ohm.with a Hifonics TITAN 750watt mono amp. Ported kicker box.
and Alpine Type S all the way around inside.

do the L7s produce heartpounding bass like my JL 12w6v2 almost did?
recomend port or sealed box?
going in a 99 accord.

Everything else being equal, the L7 will be significatly louder than the w6v2, but wont sound nearly as well. Why are you getting rid of the JL?

the JL blew out on me.few months ago i was driving home,and it was working then it stoped.i got home turned the car off,then on again the speaker came back on and hit a few times then started hitting/poping really fast..so i opend my trunk and smoke was coming from the port? so..lol

if you were happy with the w6v2, why not just pick up another one? the cost of a new sub+box will be more than just buying a new JL and dropping it right into the box you currently have.

L7's will beat.. but JL is more clear then kicker.. plain and simple

cuz i traded 'acura dude' sum things along with the blown speaker and box.
i got a good deal when i got the jl, traded my psp and midnight club dub edition for the jl,box,and a mtx thunder 4501 amp.lol but got rid of everything cuz i got airride,and put the air tank where a box would go..now im missing the bass.so figered i can get 1 12" and move the tank a little.

The L7 requires a fairly large box to not sound like a wetfart so take that into consideration. The L7 is a tried and true sub they. They can take a beating with minimal ill effects.

Hell ya man..that looks nice! that what mine looks like now except i have the other front end (1999) and a type R lip and grille. doing my final body work right now smoothing out my shaved handles then taking it to sprayglo wed.
