The really old HCCAs didn't have thermal circuitry, but the newer ones like the one I gave you had several protection circuits.

awesome thread. One of my co-workers ( @ Mobile Electronics in Newnan) has the personalized tag on his Ram " XTR " He had the tag several years ago on a show truck, and has just kept up with the tag... there were a couple of xtr woofers in a for sale thread here on IA not too long ago.
    Single... but looking.

I still have a PPI Ax606.2 in flat black, my bro in law uses, awesome old full system amp. I somewhere have a PPI 5075 w/ RCM1000 and a couple of Orion small black series 228s I believe. I sold a lil while back a bunch of old HiFonics amps, Thor, zues, and odin. Heat sinks on those thing were 1/2 long or more.....funny lookin now.

I've got a couple of extremely old Soundstreams here. Little ones, and way older than the Reference series.
Mike, you should raid Hippie's garage. Lots of old amps stuck away in there. I have his old Phoenix Gold ZX250 here at the house.

I have a pair of 250 HCCA's and an old school Alpine 3554. I also have somewhere an ultra old school Alpine 3521, Coustic 100A, my boy has an old school Proton amp that was underwater yet still works, and I think I also have an old school Hifonics amp somewhere too.

    Old school amps rock.

Hell, until just recently, I had some old Fosgate 8 inch, 8 ohm, Mid bass door speakers. The damn magnet was as big as the cone on those.

Yeah, I stay out of trouble for the most part. I never posted that much to begin with, was always a bit of a lurker, but come back here from time to time to keep up with everyone. Quit visiting all those porn sites and your computer will stay running fine ;-)

I am a HUGE fan of the Orion HCCA series! I was going to say I was highly dispointed to not see a PPI ART series but then I scrolled down...Lol. However, I did not see a PPI powerclass amp up there or an old school Zapco amp with the impossibly hard to find plug in terminals...........

Nice collection, ive got an OLD set of image dynamics dvc 10" subs that ive moved from 3 vehicles now alongside an oldschool RF 500w @ 4ohm punch amp. Its hard to beat old equipment with true power ratings.
