hey guys
i'm graduating next year currently 17 and i can't choose to either be a mechanical engineer or an architect.
i've always loved making functioning tools or equipment and i've always loved working on cars (big reason why i'm always on here lol) and i'm hella good at math which i think is really good fro this field.
i've also loved building design. my mom was a civil engineer and i used to always go to her work and there would be architects there every now and then and i could see what they do, this summer i also went to a college for architects and i thought what they did was awsome! i've also done some of my own designs on the computer using 3d programs like 3dsmax.
i just need to know which one is more rewarding or more fun. i know that with architecture its 5 years of school and then u have to do like 3 years of internship and after that u start off with simple designs on projects. so i figured it would take at least 10 - 11 years to get urself established. so that is kinda steering me away from architecture, i don't want to be an old man by the time i'm good and ready to do the fun and challenging jobs.
but my dad (who was a mechanical engineer for over 20 years) is telling me not to b/c its not that rewarding.
so if i could get some of ur advise about this it would be great! thanks for taking the time to read this i really appreciate it.
