    Default Domain Disputes?

I'm trying to get as much information as possible on the 'Anti-Cyber Squatting Consumer Protection Act' for a friends business. Someone recently purschased the domain name (.com) of his registered corporation/trademark. Anyone attempt to pursue this or know someone that has? I have a sample cease and desist letter i'm planning to mail to the domain registar but not sure where to go from there...

as far as what i have read in the past, if the domain is available to register for web purposes, theres nothing he can do. lets say NBC was just beginning to form and it leaked outside to somone. that someone then went and registered the NBC.com name, that NBC.com belongs to the person who registered it for internet use. and alot of times they sell the registered domain name back to the company for a huge profit. jsut my

...but now that would be a violation of federal law, the 1999 Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. A guy was doing that and buying up trademarked/corporation names in 1995 was sued and charged $500,000 for each of the 5 domains he purchased. Now the fine is $1,000-100,000 for each offense, depending on the intent you have with the site. Not looking for a settlement, just want the site relinquished.

I sent an e-mail to the company the domain was registered through and they gave me the info to the registrant, a French company in The Valley (Anguilla), British West Indies. *sigh* now it's international. I sent them an e-mail requesting a cease & desist but haven't heard back. lol, exactly...goood luck.
