I don't really go by political parties. I just vote on policies. I don't consider myself in one party or another... Just depends on the person and how the handle things. Theres so many different views on things and so many different ways to handle things i don't see how anyone can say they are in one party or another unless they are just conforming to the masses to be accepted somewhere...

Right on. Someone who votes only one party, or only this party, or only that party, is blind and ignorant, is part of the reason our contry is in shambles today. We need MORE than the 2-party system. That, or we need to abolish political party's altogether, and everybody be an independant candidate.

Wouldnt the democratic process just be reduced to a pissing contest if there was no coalitions?

I think we need a strong third party but not abolish all parties. I dont think much would be accomplished if all politicians were independents; political parties have their own agendas and the individual politicians generally go along with them.

this country is NOT a "Democracy" and never was intended to be. this is a Republic. why do people insist on calling it a democracy?
