It was their car and thus, their responsibility given the ages of the kids. They knowingly let their car get "out of safety specs" and knowingly let their daughter drive it, even if there was a risk. They are negligent.

I think I went to school with one of those girls. She moved to our school after the whole thing happened but graduated a couple of years ago (or maybe she just droped out). Her parents had money and I thought she got out of it, but I guess it was just waiting to go to court. Sucks for her.

If i can recall correctly when I first heard about Jacob's death they told me that the girl driver was parallized from neck down and couldn't remember anything or anyone.. and they told her that once she got out of the hospital she was going to jail after being told that she killed someone and doesn't remember... can someone confirm? did anyone else know Jacob ... he went to Norcross High School... would have been class of 2004 ...

They did. One got 5 years to serve and 10 on probation, the other got 4 to serve and 11 on probation.

safety inspections arent required for gwinnett county, or any of the metro atlanta area counties. in fact i dont think there are any required for gerogia. youre a moron.

I cant believe this....Theres been so many deaths in such a short time related to car accidents. This obviously means something...People should do something to prevent all of this. I just hate it when people that do a stupid thing and kill someone else that was innocent and the person that did something stupid is still alive??? i think my first statement wasnt clear..... i think the girls should have not only got the years sentenced.... they should have been sent to jail forever or sent to death. they killed someone and now that person is no longer here. hope that clears shit up
