    Default anyone work for primerica?

i was thinking about going part tiem with this company. I went to a siminar type thing the other day cause i want to get into the mortgage industry (or something like it). Well i get there, listen to everything and all seems good. Then i hear the catch.....$199 fee to get on. That really doesnt matter to me but today ive been doing research and found out that about half of the things i keep seeing keep saying they are a modified pyramid scheme.

anyway, hell, even if you dont work there but have any insightful info, LMK but mainly i want to know why i should pay $199 to join THEIR company. seems a little strange to me

sounds like a pyramid/scam type deal. i wouldnt touch it. you should never pay money to get a job. unless its for a drug test or some shit.

My brother got involved with Primerica awhile back. It seemed like he was constantly having to pay fees or pay for a "class". He finally gave up after spending a several hundred dollars on it and not getting anything in return. I always felt it was a scam, but after seeing what my brother went through, I am positive that its a pyramid scam. I wouldnt do it.

these "fees for classes" for told to him upfront... or he forgot. Several of the products require federal and state licenses. There is no way around these fees and they are not fees from Primeamerica.

Yes it is a pyramid scheme, yes alot of people make good money.

There are 2 of the top 10 people in Mary Kay that live in Charlotte. I smoke cigars on a regular basis with the husband to one and they make >100K a month with Mary Kay.

Is this about Primerica Financial Solutions? Aren't they a sub-company of Citibank?

Its true but stay away... You should never have to pay to work for someone, make sense? If you want to go into the financial field, take some classes and get your series 7 licence and go work for a credible company.

Best backed pyrimid scheme ever marketed. I was contacted via telephone, and I was told I had a job before they even told me what the job was! I hung up on him. He immediatly called me back, and said we lost connection. I was like, " yeah, on purpose though. I didn't want to talk with a conartist" He said, "No, no, no you have us all wrong were backed by CitiBank/Group we're a legit company." I said "listen here, asshole, don't ever contact me again" click

they always make these presentations with people driving 7series bimmers and with tons of cash telling you how they were in your shoes and how you can be like them, But do you know how they get all that $$?? by having you pay for all the stupid fees and courses. Yeah you can make a few bucks by selling insurances or doing whatever, but do the math of your time invested and you are better of working at McDonalds.( no offense to Mc)

FUK This shit!!.....priamerica, world financial group is another one....they are scams!!......not disrespecting just telling like it is...i paid 100$ to join and i backed out immediately after 1 week....until u make a single dollar, u have to waste thousands for classes, books, stupid packages, and u have to pay for all the out of state trips to the stupid conferences/meetings......a friend of mine is in it now and i told her to stop .... but she would not listen.....if u sell insurances, u best do it for a legit reputable company that actually have money for advertising rather then just recruiting people to do the advertisement.... lolz....i would PWNED each of these people if they come up to me and tell me all of these stuff again...

I remember when primeamerica was on the news. It was about the shady stuff they do there and they would sell peoples info. It also then talked about mary kay saying the best customers of mary kay are the employees becasue you have to buy everything then resell it.

As someone who is in the industry, I would suggest that you go elsewhere if you want to get involved in financial services. Just an FYI, you can't put part time in this business if you expect to get ahead.

The one gut that recruted me claim he had a big house in chicago worth $600 grand but the thing that was funny too me was one day he got pulled over in gwinnett because of no tags on his geo priszm and he was complaining bout how he didnt have money to get tags and on top of that the son of a bitch was always so dirty looking not typical for a person with soo much money like he claimed.

SCAM, ex-girlfriends parents were in it. They wouldn't leave me alone about it.

They expected to make $24K the first year, I told them that I would join if she met her expected amount that year....yeah, so after that first year they stopped, they actually lost money on it. And they actually tried hard. End of story, its CRAP

while i do agree with your feast or famine approach to sales jobs, YOU are DEFINATELY not a good representation of your company. Plus, why is there over 500 rip off reports on primerica?? this DOES NOT include their sister companys...

While i do realize that every comapny has their nitch/rip off, I dont think any other company has been sued more or has as many rip off reports.

I do sales and i make good money but i would have a problem working for a company like primerica...

Another thing that bothers me about them is that if their insurance agents make SOOOO much, who the fuck wants to work in corporate for under $40 an hour?? that to me speaks louder than anything else. MY stepmoms brother works for them and he enjoys it and a buddy of mines mom works there but they know whats up...

That wasn't geared towards yourself, the reason there are ripoff reports, is because our "agents" are "independantly owned" there not affiliated with primerica there just liscensed to sell it. Some of them are idiots you are correct, Like I said, I dont care if you go or not - It certainly hurt me any.

What i was simply stating, was the reason everybody doesnt sell the life insurance is because it is hard... but if you sell alot of policy's you make an assload.

Im an auditer for the HQ here in ga and I dont sell life insurance, as a matter of fact I dont even talk to customers... I audit lisences we get :/

get a job at the HQ, easy to get in. no "fee" its like a regular 8-5 job with excellent benifits... 2 weeks vacation, 1 week sick, 401 k everything.

I wouldnt go for the "sales agent" job either, because it has petential to make a TON of money, but its not guarenteed.

Nothing at the HQ is a sales job

let me elaborate on the 199 fee....

40$ is for an extensive background check.
59$ is for sending the application and getting you liscensed with the state
100$ is for books/classes/ and what not...

Ive worked for them for 2 years and I love it, awesome people, everything.

sales agents can screw you over, but im sure if you gave the HQ a call and talked to someone... you would see differently.

again, sales agents are independantly owned.... some are bad apples, but most are not.

out of 600k agents we have 500 complaints about 500 bad apples isnt all that bad.

Im not trying to be a representative... im just talking shit cause im sick at home today and I could care less lol

    Not true.
Citigroup is a Fortune 10 company, however, Primerica is a subsidiary of Citigroup, which means that it's a completely seperate company which is required to file it's own taxes and compile it's own financial statement. That said, Primerica did not rank in the top ten against other insurance companies.

From a financial services stand point, Primerica is garbage. If you are interested in getting into the mortgage or insurance industry, you are much better off working with a legitimate company. Not some 'multi level marketing' bullshit.

The way around the fees is for the company to pay them. My brother works as a wealth advisor for a top swiss bank and all of his licenses were paid for up front. He also got a starting salary of ~50k while training. Of course that's nothing once he hits his sales numbers which he's on target to do. There's a reason why the avg salary for financial advisors is 130k.

Primerica is pretty much the bottom rung of the financial services ladder. Most of what they sell is variable annuities, proprietary mutual funds, and life insurance. By doing the Multi-level stuff they recruit people w/ little financial knowledge who call on their friends/family to put money into underperforming/overpriced products and rake in the fees. Combined w/ the high dropout rate of associates who have already pulled in their friends money...it's hugely profitable for Citi despite having such a negative rep. Ameriprise is pretty much the same way.

I was up in NYC interviewing w/ a couple banks for a Wall St. IT position and I got a call from Primerica. They started off telling me they were Citibank...then it progressed to them being a subsidiary. I thought it was something my headhunter got me but it was just their standard pitch where the essential qualifications are the ability to read/speak english, and have plenty of friends to hit up for money.

If you're highly skilled at sales, going w/o salary may be reasonable but if you're that good it's much more likely a top company will pay up front for your training and expenses. I on the otherhand prefer to stick w/ software since I'm on target for six figures within a year.

I would disagree with that on a number of levels. First off, Ameriprise people can use any number of different companies for products, not just proprietary ones. Second, we focus more on financial planning not just products. Personally, my planning clients are free to go anywhere they like for products, as long as they do SOMETHING to improve their financial situation.

I think you had better do a little more research before lumping Ameriprise with Primerica.
What if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today.

No offense to anyone on this board but when you signed up for Primerica you started your own business. You started a business with in one. There is no business where you can walk in and only have 199 dollar start-up.I am not defending Primerica in anyway but some people just did not read the sign-up notice.Taking out of state trips is not a reqirement. Those are in place basically to pump you up to get more people under you.I have know ties to primerica or any of its affilates. There are alot of legit MLM companys out here.I am with one thats changing the real estate market and the lending market.Read and understand before you sign anything.
