well if you only understood the amount of check kiting and money laundering that goes on every single day. IF you worked for the bank and knew how many federal regulations you had to follow you would do the same thing.

All he wants is 14 grand for his legal fees it seems fair to me.

doesnt suprise me one bit. They have given me over draft fees and took shit out when I had funds in the bank and shit... they piss me off. If you ever have problems with them, call the 1800 number and talk directly to a manager, keep your cool and things will be taken care of. Sucks for this guy though...

I can agree with the "BOA sucks to work for" part, but BOA as a whole is a great bank. Their pay blows. I'd rather work at Publix, rofl.

They don't just charge random people overdraft fees. You probably failed to balance your checkbook/account properly.

I had one problem one time where I was charged from a merchant twice (Main Stream actually, LOL!). It wasn't even the bank's fault, but they offered to give me a temporary credit until it was resolved/refunded to my account.

And yes, if the check is fraudelant, you're not going to think the guy is honest and someone is trying to rip him off. You're going to think the guy is trying to get over on you (the bank). They did normal procedure, called the cops. They should refund his legal fees and compensate him for his trouble.

lol love that first statement..when i used to work in customer service i would get that all the time, "you guys always charge me late fees and overlimit fees...bla bla bla...whine whine whine.." well you got that fee for a reason, because you weren't being responsible with your finances, and it could have easily been avoided.

I agree they should refund his legal fees to, but they definately followed procedure to a T. the teller did her job, she played along with the guy until authorities came. I work in fraud at a bank so i talk to perps all day long and my job is keep them on the phone long enough and figure out what information they know about a customer, and possibly where they got it from..you just have to play along with them.

Yeah, I always told my tellers to say, "It'll just be one moment, we need to get the money from the vault. Just have a seat in the lobby and we'll be right with you."

We had this 65 yr old lady locked up one day for trying to pass a bad check ($15,000.00).

People fail to realize purchases don't post (come out of your account) to your account the same day you make it. It's when the business batches their transactions and submit the transactions for collection. Small businesses and gas stations do it once or twice a week so the charge will come out after about 3-4 days because it costs them money to batch their transactions. Bigger places like Wal-Mart batch purchases daily, so it comes out of your account quicker and will reflect in your balance. The only way to make sure you don't overdraft is by keeping track of your purchases.

Stop blaming the bank for your goof ups.

I been with BOA for 7 years and have a checking, savings and credit cards with them. I had a few problems with them but they quickly resolve it. I remeber one time I did get one of those overdraft fee's because I get my insurance and car payment automatically drafted from my account. I walked into the bank and talked to the customer service and they refunded the overdraft fee.

Overall I think they are a great bank but sucks for that guy.

the sad thing is that the majority of the people who give banks a bad name are the ones who problem is a result of their own negligence. What i have seen in the 4 years i have worked for banks is that they are typically the people who are never are happy about anything. No matter what you offer they are never happy. and they can't take responsiblity for their own actions.

but of course there are always exceptions.

You probably worked for them before BOA bought them out.

BOA pay sucks. My wife was a manager for them and left for another bank where she made almost twice as much as BOA paid her.

When I worked for them I thought I got paid well also until I left and started working for another bank, lol. BOA is one of the lowest paying banks out there. Their benefits are awesome, but that's about it.

I work at BoA, but I'm a legacy MBNA employee.

So I get paid well, however I can't get any benefits because I got put on corrective action.

Working for MBNA was so much better because you could tell it was a place that actually cared about people, BoA just seems like they don't give a shit about employees or customers.

    Yep.

Also, we don't like the term "bought" we prefer "joined forces".

As a bank BoA sucks. I remember when they bought/merged w/ Nations Bank here in the southeast a few years ago. I tried pulling money from my BoA account and they tried to tell me it didn't exist (the account). After telling them the account was based in Ca, they proceeded to tell me that they didn't have access to anything west of the mississippi. Talk about wasted time and energy. Before you slap your name on a building, make sure your databases are aligned so people can access their funds. WTH is the deal w/ a minimum balance in a checking account? Who keeps a $100 minimum in their checking account when you're only making 3-400 bux a month? My account was never overdrawn, but I was regularly charged $55/month because my account would hover around 50ish at the end of each month. Finally, I just said screw it and let them pull all they wanted, I never accessed my account after that. I assume it's closed, I have no desire to go back and find out, I've been with WaMu for the last 6 years or so and have been more than pleased w/ their service.

As for paying squat, BoA does that too. I interviewed for a teller position a few years ago, took the tests, interviewed w/ the regional HR lady and all they could offer was $7/hr. Now I know a teller doesn't deserve 20 or 30/hr, but $7/hr, screw that, you can make that folding clothes at sears or flipping burgers. Anyway, screw BoA. They won't get my service or money, they don't care and that's ok w/ me.

You won't be able to open another bank account at another financial institution if you still owe BOA money. You will be on ChexSystems and flagged until you clear that up with BOA, if you do owe them money.

Not sure if they eventually turn to collection agencies and report it to the credit bureaus for overdrawn accounts but it isn't worth ruining your credit over.
