Actually in the constitution it does not state wither there is a set language or not. The vast majority of the people in our contry do speak english. I however do not think that we should have to cater to people that arent willing to try to learn the language that the majority of people in this contry speak. I know if I were to move to japan or mexico or germany I would learn how to speak their language.

French people are the rudest mother fuckers on the planet and I hope they die. Even if you do try to speak to them in french. If it isnt perfect they wave their hand in an offensive fashion and say 'meh americane' which is the female version of the word.

I do think that we should try to teach kids in school other languages because it is good for the culture and to expose them to interesting things that they might not have known before, and I do think that we should have class for kids that dont know english to teach them it and to teach what they need to know in the correct language so that dont fall behind in their studies and when they know enough english move them to a normal class.

In alot of other contries english is pretty common as a happy meduim language. When I have visisted austria, swizerland, and germany they thought it was funny when we tried to speak their language, and they jumped all over the chance to try to use their english skills to attempt to commucate with us. In swizerland the vast majoirty of the entire contry speaks both french and german because the contry is actually spilt into 2 sections the french side and the german side language wise.

I just choose things like java and C++ VB and languages of that sort cas I sucked at math...now I can write programs that do it for me.

i think that by making english the "official" language simply says that you must learn it before become a legalized citizen. i.e. the nationality test will be written in english and only english, which i for one AGREE with!
