Default God damnit, Bush was on the right track....

    but kinda fell short.

6000 guardsmen for 2000 miles, thats 1 guardsman for every 500+ yards

they need to get the 10k that was first projected.

It's a step in the right direction, but...meh.

This was basically trying to boost the peoples position on the republican party.

    I'm a die hard republican...but I know marketing when I see it.

I agree, but that whole motion sensors technology nonsense would never work.

I don't think they will be spreading them that thin. The 6,000 national guardsmen are supposed to be bringing additional vehicles and shit so getting around won't be as difficult. Most of the illegal crossings are centered around border cities like el paso and shit because much of our southern border is barren.

its 6000 additional! lol.. pay attention.. i belive he mentioned we had about 6000 existing border patrol... totaling well over 10,000. He is bringing in National Guard for the short term, while the new border patrol officers are in training. Did I miss somthing?

^^ ummm....a comment like that needs a detailed explaination to support your claim.
"The 1911 is a collection of subsystems that must work together. Each part must be prepared and fit properly not only in and of itself, but also with regard to the other parts with which it must operate for the gun to function and appear as desired."

trust me I did pay attention. The guardsmen would be used as a support team...most of the 6000 border patrol officers now are over worked and using out dated equipment. He also said there are 1000 more still in training. The guard will be trying to help organize the border patrol, so you will not see those 6000 guardsmen doing actual field work. Some will be setting up new commo systems, some will be doing clerical work, some will help with the fence construction....so it's really not as many one would think that would be doing any border enforcement.

agreed, its not enough.... and i didnt mean to sound like an ass with my "pay attention" comment.. i meant to throw a smily in there soo u would know, but forgot to..

true, all 6000 wont be doing "guard work" persay.. but neither do the X number of existing border patrol people. so thats a given, but anything will help.

Fair tax plan FTW!!! tax those bastards and i will be a little happier... Then fill the border with claymores, IEDs, and personal mines. ok ok.. the second part of this paragraph is bogus,lol.. but i still say Fair Tax FTW.

What about pressuring the Mexican goverment to change?

didn't you hear why the Mexican govt won't change? it's because the low income who get shitted on by the govt and they all run to the US border hoping for better lives, so the Mexican govt could care less if they lose some low income citizens. That asshat of a mexican president, is againest all this border policy and is claiming we are trying to militarize our borders...simply because he doesnt want to stop the flow of low incomes leaving his country. What the fuck do we need to militarize the border with Mexico for? It's not like they are any kind of international threat....he's just talking shit because he doesnt want to get stuck with all those people who hate their govt.
