Default For those who care about DSL speeds

Hooked up a customer yesterday that was pulling 15mb downstream 8mb up.. he was also able to watch television over the phone line.. I thought that was pretty interesting. The guy was actually an engineer for Bellsouth and said the service is on trial in Cobb County right now and should be available next year.

From what I saw the line was capable of 20mb and he said they are working on 50mb right now, there are just distance issues with that.

lol I wish it was that easy, otherwise I'd be pulling 20+ at home but Bellsouth is good about controlling the DSL speeds, most everyone has the ability to download at 8mb on our DSL lines but of course the company wont allow that.

So you are working with installing Big Picture, right?
I knew they were testing 12mb and are getting ready to test 24mb, haven't gotten to play with it though (I'm not on that project).

Cable does 45mbps? You really believe that? The fastest comcast can do is 6mbps and if you've seen the kind of work they do you'd reconsider.

Actually they can do 8 mb right now, and are testing 16mb around cobb county i believe. Either way though they suck, the service is bad many many times, and the customer service is a disgrace, hence my switch from them to bellsouth.
