Default Bush was briefed about Katrina

Honestly.. wtf could he have done? It was a damn natural disaster! It does not matter what man made structure was built you cannot f*ck with mother nature. I am not a Bush supporter by any means but I believe fair is fair, I'm listening to Hot 107.9 and people are talking about reparations for this and other bs.. I just dont understand.

Can anyone give a valid reason why Bush is to blame? I mean the federal government was giving money for the levvies every year and those funds were squandered by the local politicians.

to be honest, i dont like bush either, infact i hate that big eared man, but your right. Even if he knw about it i highly doubt that he and or his administration could have done anymore then they did. To be honest with you, everyone in those towns, more specifically new orleans had gotten a warning prior to the hitting of katrina, yes, there is a big percentage of poverty in that city, but in my opinion bush and his administration did everything in their power to do what they did. Now, im sure that there could have bee minor tweeks here and there were things could have been improved but over all i think they did what they could have done, i mean look at the coast guard, the were resucing people around the clock, never stopping, and i mean there is only so much rations and or shelters that can be made and sent out to those people...maybe im missing something, idk, thats just my $.02

From what i hear i think they were talking mostly about the fact that the levy would not withstand the blow of the hurricane and that he did nothing to help reinfoce the levy. Not sure how much could have been done in that time period but i believe that is what they are refering to... (i work at CNN and watch WAY too much news...)

I agree and I think the media is also trying to imply that he lied when he said his administration had no idea of the magnitude of the hurricane.. which I could agree that he lied but what politician doesn't? That is what gets them in office in the first place.. not to say it is right but people are expecting way too much of one person. They act like Bush could have swooped down himself and saved the whole city.. New Orleans was not the only place that was hit by Katrina.

I was speaking in generalities. No where in the Constution does it state that it is the job of the President to protect States from natural disasters. Like the guy above said, "The city of NO & the state were given funds to make the leves stronger and bigger. Going back 30+years. that's corrupt leadership in NO at it's finest.
these are the same who are people bitching and moaning, "Bush lied. He didn't save us. ". It is this entitlment mentatlity of the "poor". And the socialist agendas of the people that want to keep them there. Because if you put a community in a situation where they've lost all will, ambition, and desire to work and support themselves you will have absolute control over them. thus making them dependent on you(wellfare) and they will vote for you and keep you in office.

The funny thing is i have family that lives in FL and when a hurricane comes, what do they do? Get the fuck out of the way! For the people in New Orleans, Most of them IMO could have left. A few of them probably couldnt though. The only two things i have an issue with are all the people playing the race issue down there and its kinda hard to help someone who won't help themselves (I.E. the entire population of NO bitching now). My dads company hired a few of the people from down there and out of the 5, only one is left cause the others got fired for stealing or being lazy asses.

    So, here's the summary:

    -get a job
-stop mooching my taxes then bitching bout the govt. that you never vote in
    -stop playing the race card

dude i could have walked or rode a bike out of the there from the time they warned them to the time it hit
and dont say the homeless cant afford a bike
whats a bike like 50 bucks?
    ok lets do the math
a bike is like 50 buck plus tax costs 53 dollars
24 hours in a day 8 hours of sleep a day leaving us 16 hours
if a pan-handler got $1 every 15 minutes he was awake hed make $64 in a day
thats enough for a bike, food for that day, and maybe some crack
