    Default Peak Oil Crisis

    http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/

What do you think about the Peak Oil Crisis. The actions of the oil companies seem to be pointing to this, if it is true then life as we know it now will come to an end. Kind of scary when you think about it.

eh.. we can survive without oil. People survived without it 150 yrs ago. Life may be different though. Actually there is technology out there to take the place of oil dependance, but it's being suppressed. Why do you think they are making hybrid cars instead of 100% electric cars? Saturn sold an all electric car a few yrs back, but they have not continued with that technology. How come no one is selling all electric cars? Polititians make too much money off of oil to let technology solve our problems. Oil is even used to make electricity, but there are ways to make electricity that are almost free (windmills, damns, solar). The government is keeping us dependant on oil for a reason.

Hulud- Alaska will not yield even 10% of our need so it is like putitng a band aide on a broken leg.

Civic95, you should read the website I posted. It breaks down the myth of the free energy as you call it. This website gives a total breakdown of who/what/how America lives and works. The technology is there yes, but this should have been started a long time ago.

Yes, the materials to make free energy devices are extracted from the earth using oil using machinery, but that can change too. If all cars were electric (which will happen eventually), and machines were still using oil (which they will be converted eventually too) they wouldn't use that much. We will slowly be weened off of oil to the point money can still be made from it as it's production declines.

I still don't see the logic behind the correlation of war and high oil prices?

We fought Iraq in 2001 too. Oil prices didn't spike like this. What's the difference?

Yes demand is higher, China is now expierencing a huge boost in the need for Sweet Crude (Best oil to make gas) and that is pushing production to the max to the point that they cannot keep up with demand.

It amazes me how people try and blame Bush for this oil issues ( Like one man can make the world price in oil go up, C'Mon now, dont use your hatred for the man to blame him for every issue that happens in the world )..... How does Bush have anything to do with the demand the 2 largest countries on this planet? China and the U.S are to fully blame for the oil prices. The demand for oil has sky rocketed due to our usage and now China stepping up on thier demand.

The production is hurting due to the big demand on the oil now, so this is why we are seeing the surge in prices.

The biggest reason for the increase in gas/oil prices is Chinas increase in need for the same thing. Not Bush trying to make extra money.

Ladies and Gentleman here is your Future...

Look at these PHAT 27 inch RIMS. most come with cup holders, and even an air pump so no need to stop at the gas station to pay for air.

Dont worry there's one for the average family man.

Worried that parking may be an issue???? the future has that problem covered.

Six speed vipers!!! HA, i have a 10 speed Schwinn, thats four more speeds than your car!

Best of all, we'll be in shape!!!

Dont worry our future is bright without the OIL.

Sad part is that is close to what we will end up with unless the technology is in place to take over oil.

That is the exact reason why it went up. china is now buying more oil which is pushing production to the limit and cannot keep up with demand. That is the problem.

BS!!! China, bad weather or other production disruptions, etc... those are simple outs for companies to make higher dollar on oil, its all about supply and demand, the majority of the oil we get is from the 4 largest oil companies owned by the US & England, they know we will keep driving no matter the price; people have to work to survive. Have you taken a look at Oil stocks, they aren't hurting. Gas has gone up 20+ cents in the past month, so saying the China started a DMV is fucking BS. Besides oil companys use contracts like every other company you don't think they have long term contracts on how fuel is being purchased.

This is the same bullshit in the computer industry.... if there is an earthquake or any other natural disaster in asia Memory/Chip/Motherboard prices go up... Just like when Arafat died like a month 1/2 ago, what happened to gas prices they went down the next day why, b/c 'THERE IS STABILITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST' :jerkit:

Its booming economy and burgeoning appetite for cars and other modern conveniences have caused energy demand to soar. China's oil imports doubled over the past five years and surged nearly 40% in the first half of 2004 alone. These increases vaulted the mainland ahead of Japan and into second place among the world's biggest oil consumers, behind only the U.S.
Demand is growing larger everyday from the US, China, and Japan, production remains about the same. It's not rocket science.

that is true but they have the resources and $$$ to move ahead production to meet demands, but why do that when your making so much money... called monopoly

that's true. They could actually cut production in half, and make even more because people will still buy it. Well for a little while anyways. They have to make sure they don't crash another country's economy so that they don't buy any. Main problem is that all these people you see driving escalades, hummers, etc aren't concerned about gas prices. At $3 a gallon, they still have disposable income each month. It only affects those living paycheck to paycheck that are already having a hard time paying their bills. As these people start only driving to and from work, or start taking the buses, it'll start to impact the economy. When they start pinching pennies, the rich will start to feel the effects. They will have less attendance at their movie theatres, resturants, liquor stores, etc. It'll all balance out eventually.

110% w/ on that... w/ our attention diverated else where War, Tsunami relief, Pope dying, etc... we will stay in this cycle, b/c the rich are making $$$.

it sucks b/c right after i bought my new car which is turbo, and it runs some much better on 91, they have bumped gas up 20 cents in a months time. 30$ fills are costing me 120-150$ a month in fuel... my wifes car is easily 80-125$ on 87 w/ comuting back and forth to school. we need better public transportation here in metro ATL

that's true.
I agree 120%. I am thinking of pulling the skateboard back out
