    Default Lifestyle or Not?

how many years you've been in this game..me personally i've been in it since 96'....so what do you guys think is this whole import racing thing a life style or is it a hobby and passion which you wish to accomplish and please your self...me personally i think its a hobby and a passion...its always been...ever since the fucked up movie "fast and the furious" came out it fucked up everything for everyone..more idiots came out with the clear lights and the euro's...thats annoying...i got to admit when i got into the sport it was like that for me...but as time went on i knew that its about how fast you can go instead of how nice you want to look...i hate this whole shit how every dumbass out there is making this a life style...people jacking shit, the neons, etc...its fucking it all up for us...before will be like california where having an intake is illegal..well i hope i made a point clear..so what do you guys think..life style or not?

I've been lowriding since 1989. It's a lifestyle for the people that make a living doing this. For the enthusiasts, this would be considered a hobby or passion. I don't really care for it too much anymore. I want to mess with an old school ride and drive it and that's it. No more racing, no more showing for me. Too many people fuccing this up for the real folks all around. Later, QD.

Definitely a lifestyle. I've always been an enthusiast since I was a little kid, was always amazed with cars but I didnt get into the import scene until a couple of years ago, before then all I read was Motor Trend and Car & Driver. I LOVE the scene but the select few of dumb asses tend to ruin it for me when it comes to car shows, meets or whatever.

A lifestyle would something that helps support your life. If you have a job at a place such as WCC or Batlground, it would be a lifestyle for you. Or if you were a professional rac car driver...that would be a lifestyle. This is just hobby for us that don't make a living off of this. Later, QD.

I disagree. You don't have to work in this industry in order to have it be your lifestyle. If you dream it, play in it, love it and would do anything for it. It's your life, therefore your lifestyle. I have been playing in this industry since I was 15. I could never stop loving it, I am it. It is my lifestyle.

Same here for me its a hobby, a passion, and a lifestyle, becuase i work for money to work on my car! Also i dont see why people think Fast and Furious messed it up, all those cars you saw, besides the main actors where peoples real cars, and alot of them where very nice.

    You missed it...

Lifestyle- meaning you wake up in the morning wiping the drool off your face from the exuberant amount of power the car you dreamt about made. Then you drive to work seeing a 430 modena on the rode hoping for that to be your next ride. Then you hear a song on the radio talking about shifting into 5th gear. Get the picture yet?

It's not just driving int he canyons' once a month or street racing some kid in a car you knwo you can beat. It's about dreamin it, thinking about it, making plans, DOING it, and looking to contribute to it anyway possible.

You breathe it like that's your air.
    You would die without it.

    Get it now?

Maybe that's just how I feel.

Racing will die out? Hmmm Let's go back to the first American car race...
November 28th 1895- Wow it's really dying out? Do you even own speed channel?

i actually agree with every one of Kathryn's post in this thread. I got started in 94 when i frst seen a Supra. I was only about 9 years old didnt know jack shit about cars. but it always stuck with me. and when i hit 15 all i could talk aout was cars. I have been iinto imports since 15 and i do feel without my cars in my life i would die. U should see how depressedi get when my car goes in the shop and i dont s ee it for a long time. I feel a part of me is missing. This isnt jsut for fun or because its the"in" thing. This is my life, my personality. I dont see myself ever stopping becauseits something i enjoy. i doubt imports will die out and even if they do i will continue on with it because its what i like. Cars are not a fad IMO
