Question About OPT Visa for F-1 Students

If its in the wrong section i apologize.

I have few questions relating to OPT visa.

My girlfriend is from Japan and just graduated college in GA. She applied for opt visa 2-3 months ago but she realized she forgot to include a picture of her self in the package. ( Yeah how stupid but shit happens)

She's crying to death about it and was saying if she had to wait another 3 months she is going to give up on the Visa and return back to Japan. Since she will only be able to stay here less than 9months.

The question is, if she re-applies for visa again, will her visa only be valid for 9months or shorter? ( the date she first applied) Or will the Visa be valid from the day she applied the second time??

I'm pretty sure they'll just send you a request for additional info (the picture). If you are really worried about it I would ask an immigration attorney. I'm not an expert but my wife is an immigrant so I have had to deal with visa issues in the past.
