    Default Child adoption

    I am wanting to adopt my 7 yr old stepdaughter legally. Does anyone know of a cheap way of doing this? Some of the lawyers I have contacted are trying to charge $3500+!!!!

    It isn't cheap to adopt a child. I did it and it wasn't pretty from my wallet's point of view. Later, QD.

    There is no father listed on her birth certificate. My wife wanted it that way so he would not have any rights to her when she got older. Even if he wanted to contest the adoption he would not be able to easily since he has never been in her life and has not wanted too. I have to place a legal ad in the newspaper for so many days stating that I want to adopt her since we dont know how to get in touch with this douchbag.
