Default Vehicle State Tax (For out of state purchase)

So for a vehicle purchased out of state from a dealer. Is the state tax required?

Also, will it be simple as (your county tax % x The price of the vehicle)?

I'm a newb to this so I'd like to confirm if it's right.

    Thanks,

If purchased out of state then you will not pay tax for that specific state. Once you go to register the car, then you will pay the your county tax x whatever you paid.

Are you trading a car or just buying outright? If you are trading, they will apply the sales tax paid on the traded car.

I bought my car in FL, it was very easy other than convincing the idiot dealer there that I didn't need to pay FL tax when I purchased.

    That's what I thought.

    Thanks for confirming everyone.

^That depends on if you purchased from dealer or private owner.

Private sale doesn't need an inspection.

Only Bill of sale or Title, Emission, and Insurance (sometimes not required)
