Let's see, don't lie. Tell the truth as much as you can and don't over exaggerate it. The judge isn't a cop, so it's not like he really wants to incriminate you. He will just want to discuss your actions and the reason behind them. If you explain that you know you broke the law but unintentionally and be VERY respectful then it should go along smoothly.
