I have a degree in marketing from one of the best business schools in the country and I am having a helluva time finding a job.

Get into IT...even a shitty economy needs IT to run.

that just gave me a new perspective of what i probably would be going through if i went into school for marketing. i was unsure of what to expect after graduation. maybe the IT field is where its at. looks like i will be looking at what the schools around here have for the IT field.

where'd you go? because honestly no where in ga really excels in marketing. for the most part (they do well, just none are in the top of the nation). in business school rank (graduate atleast), we generally see it established as Emory>UGA~GSU>GaTech (with exception to CIS, which tech specializes at). and even then the first 3 are up there for acct/finance programs... not marketing.

Honestly as a business major myself, the business majors to get into that are most valuable are the specialized fields (obviously). Marketing/Human Resources/Hospitality, etc majors are very generic and offer no specialization compared to other majors such as acct and finance (can pursue series exams, CPA, CFA/financial planning, analyst positions), actuarial science, real estate, and cis (although its more of a crossbreed of tech and business).
