    Default 6$/hr + commision?

    well i just got hired for sears jewelry store sales...it is paying 6$/hr with commision from all the jewelry sales, dont know about how much % because everything is different but from what i was told its usually around 2-3% on most things and with diamonds its alot more...


    never worked with this type of pay so...
    what kind of money am i looking at? is this good or bad? given that i am able to sell alot..

    It's as good as you are, honestly. $6/hour is ****, but thats why you get commission. I did an internship this summer where we got 19% commission, and my average sale was for $900.

    Honestly, sky is the limit, just depends on what kind of salesman(or woman), you are. I don't know anything about jewels other than that they are expensive, so I wish I could help you a little more. =[ If you have any specific sales questions, I can try to help you out.

    i know 6$ an hour is ****...they initially told me it pays JUST commission and its pretty decent...so i wont know until i start working there...training tomorrow

    As long as your are friendly and can upsell to people, you will be ok. People come to buy jewelry and your job is to make them buy the most expensive piece.

    Just think about how many people are stopping by Sears to pick up some jewelry, especially with the economy like it is now. I say, stick with it until the end of the year at least. You will probably do really good around Christmas, but it won't pick up until the middle of November.

    sears pay is horrible

    i got payed the same way you do when i worked in the sporting goods department at the one in town center mall

    i worked there for 2 months after the training <---($8/hr.) before i quit

    just my 2
