Christians for Obama

A new organization has come to my attention.

This group has essentially pledged their support to Barack Obama because of his commitment to Christian ideals. While I admire their intent, I believe they are misguided. I welcome debate.

1. Show me a place where Jesus used or encouraged us to use political action for Christian service.
2. Show me how any politician could effectively do this.

Now, I am in no way questioning Obama's faith, (I find that immature and feeble-minded); but, we've seen how political moral control has failed before (for the right)...can the church really afford to go through this again?

Not to be offensive to anyone else's faith. I was referring to this mentality certain people have that if you are of whatever religion, you have to believe some idea no matter what.

Guys I understand the Reverend Wright thing makes us all a bit uncomfortable, but if anyone is going to make headway against Obama, its not going to be by attacking his pastor, his wife, or his church. You need to go at his policies and plans.

Like I have said MANY times. Its not JUST his Pastor, JUST his friends, JUST his political advisors. Its when you look at ALL of them that you have to start to wonder what he is really about.


On his policies, those are even easier to attack than those that he surrounds himself with. Higher taxes on oil companies mean higher prices at the pump. Blocking oil companies from drilling domesticlly means higher prices at the pump. Socialist healthcare means higher taxes to cover it. Eliminating the limit on SS taxes serves as a punishment for working hard. Doubling capital gains taxes means lower returns on your investments, this includes your Mutual Funds, IRA's and 401k's.

well said. It scares me to think that young christians are going to vote for Obama thinking that they are helping the poor through christian service and sacrifice, but forcefully taking money from one person and redistributing it to another is not biblical or christlike. Redistribution IS Biblical (Acts 2 :44-45) but is done so through mutual agreement. When one is forced to give charity, it becomes an act done through power and force, which is of course the complete opposite of the cross. Government fundmamentally cannot act selfless because it posseses no self. What it gives it must have taken. What is sacrificed must also be stolen.

lol Rarely do I really laugh out loud to something on the computer but that one did it. If that was truly the case people would get up in the middle of sermons and walk out since the rest would be useless..

Better yet its like going to school only to hear what you want and leave rather than gaining a full understanding of what is being said.

You cannot mix church and state, but it's the easiest way to SELL Votes. I watched this video recently that has made me question a lot of our candidates the last few years.
It tackles religion, WTC, and the federal reserve. Watch out for the amero, it's the proposed currency for the north american union.the stock market is now able to get emergency loans from the FED, when those loans are called in the market crashes. that is what happened in the 20's 30's.
