{I am not bitching about my ticket just asking for your opinion}
My parents are moving to back to GA (they currently stay in Kansas City, MO). With them having multiple vehicles, I decided to fly out and drive one back (Harley Davidson F150). So after getting up at 2am, I got on the road. I set the cruise control to "what I believe was 80mph" (only 10mph over the speed limit), and cruised though Missouri and Illinois. So once I got in Kentucky, out of a group of 5 cars I get pulled over (I'm upset because I was in the middle of the pack, and I was going only 10 over). The crazy thing is the cop runs out onto the middle of the hwy causing everyone to slams on brakes (coming to a complete stop on the hwy WTF) and then points to me. So I pull over and he tells me I was clocked going 11mph over (I'm thinking wtf). After sitting for 10mins, he comes back with ticket. I ask the officer how many mph do they tend to give. He replies 10mph (I'm really pissed inside now). So I ask the officer for a warning since I was only going 1mph over his grace speed and that with a non digital speedo, it's hard to determine between 80 and 81mph. He smartly relied "Not today". Cool with me right, but here's the kicker. Since I was signing the ticket while I was talking to him I wasn't paying too much attention to it. But after I drove off, I look at the paper with the price of the ticket (around $210) and was amazed. Something didn't add up. So I look at the ticket and the cop change the mph on it (different from what he told me). He pulled me over doing 11mph over the speed limit, but wrote the ticket up for 12 over. I don't know how they break down their pricing in that county but 1mph can drastically change the price of a speeding ticket.
So here's the break down of why I believe I go pulled over.
-I was pulled over due to being out of state (the MO using front and rear plates while KY uses only rear (I believe), so he knew I wasn't from there and wouldn't fight it.)
-My vehicle stood out the most (new truck with chrome rims)
So do you think I have any chance if I shocked them and showed up for court? He did write the wrong speed down (which I should of caught) and put not only his self but my life in jeopardy by running onto the hwy like a fool. If don't goto court, I'm still going to try to get in touch with the judge and talk to him (long shot but never know). I just want to see your take on the situation.
