Those of you who are saying that black people should "get over slavery", I wonder if any of you have had to deal with lynchings, police brutality, segregation, jim crow laws, etc. Its true that most of that stuff is in the past but even so those wounds are not yet healed.

And many black people do not have the same opportunities as white people. There are many poorly funded inner city schools out there so its hard for the children who DO choose the right path because the schools can only do so much for them.

Remember that slaves were not allowed to read or write and most only knew simple mathemetics. Pre-slavery African culture was also an oral culture, meaning not much emphasis was placed on written agreements. So the free'd slaves did not at first posess the command of the English language that their former masters had. There were more immediate concerns than education, such as ownership of property, finding sustainable income etc. And when blacks were able to begin a culture of education the had to deal with the seperate but (not) equal system of segregation. Its only within the last 2 generations that schools were intergrated, and even now they are pretty much only integrated on paper.

Blacks are just as equal as whites, if not they have BETTER opportunities because of RACIST organizations like the NAACP, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, etc.

This isnt the 50 and 60s when blacks sat at the back of the bus. That time has come an gone. This isnt the Civil War.

Its my belief that "BLACK AMERICA" which i deem is the racist political leaders i have mentioned and people with the mentality of Airmax95 that will forever keep their race down. Their inability to think for themsevles and move on in soceity as a people will always raise questions by me.

Are there some good BLACK leaders out there, sure. Are most of them overshadowed by their counterparts, yes.

All im saying is that 90% of blacks are voting for OBAMA and they dont even know what he stands for. They agree with his ideas, but even he has NO IDEA how to implement them.

I mean i could start a platform that says "ALL AMERICANS DESERVE a MILLION DOLLARS PAID SALARY A YEAR!". everyone will agree with me, but the fact is there is no way to implement that idea.


IMO most of BLACK POLITICAL LEADERS use race as a way to gain constituents. Obama used the trinity church to solidify his powerbase which is run by a bunch of racists.

How is my mentality keeping my race down? Please explain I represent the American that wishes all people are equal for a better America. I have a good job, damn good one. I have an education, a damn good one. I mentor our youth, OUR YOUTH (all youth) on doing well in society. SO before you get on your angry "I don't like black people, because...." horse, get to know the positive. Every race has their "not the best representation" of individuals. You my friend are like many others have said, closed minded.

Also, who are you to define "Black America"?

If anything, your mentality is not going to better this country, because you refuse to accept the fact that Racism still exist. Stop sweeping it under the rug. You are not black, didn't go through anything like they did in those times, and you do not get the same treatments that many do today. You have no say so on the black experience. Everyone goes through trials and turmoil, but EVERY situation is different. Sad thing is that COLOR does still play a part.

Im kinda with you and against you on that one. Of course black went through alot of brutality, but that was then. Black people these days do need to get over slavery, because that was their ancestors getting lynchings, police brutality, segregation, jim crow laws, etc. Not them. But of course there is still a little segregation and police brutality going on for the black people.
