    Default Wachovia WAY2SAVE

I opened mine about 2 weeks ago and have already put over $30 into it. Mainly because I use my card for everything. Anyone else opened up one of these?

For those that don't know, the WAY2SAVE program is like the BoA "Save the Change" program. Wachovia just adds $1 to all your debit card purchases and tranfers it to a savings account. Every month it accumulates 5% interests and, at the end of the year, you get another 5% on your total balance. The only drawback, is that you can't just walk into a bank and transfer money into it. Still, for those of us that won't willingly save money, this is a great program.

Hmm... I have been thinking about doing this because everything I do is "for work" thus I can write it off for work...

Sounds like a good way to save... Is there a certain period you have to keep it in or does it go to your bank account that you have with them?

This should go in the WALLSTREET section, Ran. Better suited in there. Later, QD.

That sounds really good. I've been debating on the longest on which to bank with: Wachovia or Bank of America.

I had BOA and they can kill you with fees, but Wachovia is great zero fees for us. I did like BOA's Keep the change cause it did not seem like alot was coming out of your checking, but it really does add up. I have been thinking about keep the change.....not sure tho....it seems like a really good deal...we might end up signing up for it.

i love bank of america, keep the change etc etc similar programs are great, but they simply round up your purchases out of your PERSONAL bank account.. so if you buy something thats 2.01 you've just spent 3 dollars..the banks do this b/c it gives THEM greater amounts of money b/c they can just take all those pennies etc etc and put them to their use. but stil its a great system!

Yeah, for people that don't use their debits card a lot, it really doesn't help a lot and a traditional savings account would probably be better. However, for people like me that use their card for EVERYTHING, it's been awesome.

No, this is a completely different savings account. Basically, they set up a new savings account just for your WAY2SAVE program. You can track it online as well to see where you're standing.

As for a time period, I don't believe you need to keep it for any set period of time but I'd have to double check.

I just save my own change in a box and do it myself. Chalk accidentally overdrawing then being docked for it cuz u assumed that it wouldnt rounded to the nearest dollar. I didnt wanna spend 3 dollars when I bought an item for $2.42 plus tax. I'll keep my own change.

thats better than my savings account. i put 1k in my savings and after a month i got 15 cents. woot.

but srsly, **** keep the change. i just take X amount of money from every direct deposited paycheck and put it into savings myself. and its a lot more than a measly $200/month that people are too lazy to do themselves that they have to sign up for a special program for.
