Well there is a post about this in the Whorelounge. It is none of the above. One of them is closer. I will vote for that one but your answers are too broad.. If you put "a" before one then maybe......

It is a stretched out version of the confederate battle flag. The Confederate Battle Flag was square, this is obviously rectangular. Same message, southern pride.

I've always just referred to it as stars and bars. no clue what the official name would be.
the real stars and bars is way different
That flag was actually the "Battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia"
On a side note, the concepts that make up this flag and other confederate flags were borrowed from existing flags and designs, primarily St Andrews cross. Also, designs to various confederate flags were accepted and submitted from all over the country...including the Union & northern states, thats right, Yankees helped design confederate flags.
This flag was NOT one of the 3 flags used as national flag of the Confederate States of America, just one of many battle flags used.
Although my ancestors fought and died for the Union I believe that all such historic emblems should be preserved and it bugs me to see any used by rednecks and retards in a negative fashion.

Props to you for your knowledge. Not sure of your age but you seem more educated and understand the meaning at the same time which makes it even more impressive. When your birthday falls on March 4th as mine does it makes it even a little better for people with my historic values.Originally Posted by metalman
Navy Jack is propbably the flag that I recognize as being misused the most as you put it.
Nice work.
Ah here it is... Gotta love Google.
Confederate Navy Jack: Used as a navy jack at sea from 1863 onward. This flag has become the generally recognized symbol of the South.
Note: It is necessary to disclaim any connection of these flags to neo-nazis, red-necks, skin-heads and the like. These groups have adopted this flag and desecrated it by their acts. They have no right to use this flag - it is a flag of honor, designed by the confederacy as a banner representing state's rights and still revered by the South. In fact, under attack, it still flies over the South Carolina capitol building. The South denies any relation to these hate groups and denies them the right to use the flags of the confederacy for any purpose. The crimes committed by these groups under the stolen banner of the conderacy only exacerbate the lies which link the seccesion to slavery interests when, from a Southerner's view, the cause was state's rights.
Oh yeah thats stars and bars. Long live the confederaccccci.Originally Posted by Whiteboy™

It would be alot better when this flag isnt used to get people rowdy.
This is bullsh it, that flag is the symbol of the darkest era in this country and a poll is done on it? Wow..........
Thats the symbol of those that LOST the civil war...and will never rise again to many sweet tea drinkin, catfish wranglin, toothless southerner in their Ford pickup with red clay stained wranglers dismay....lol, I've always known it as a confederate flag
It is a symbol of our history and always will be. It may have been a "dark" time for some, sad for others and maybe even miserable for the rest but it is still a part of history.
I am proud to be a "True American" and always will be including the bad, sad, dark and rough past times that created our history.
Funny how most don't even know what flag it is but yet will complain anyway. This is what causes the negative impact that continues on and on and will simply due to ignorance in most cases.
It is History folks and it comes with the territory of living in a great country.
confederacy flag
The south lost and will not rise again. Ever. Wewt.
Wow aren't you an intelligent one, just figuring that out are ya? And your point being? This is the type of comments that the poster was speaking of when he said try and stay civil meaning mature and non childish.Originally Posted by skillzilla
I think everyone understands the war and the flags so what value was your input on this?
My comment had the same value as the "REBEELLL YELLL" etc etc comments made previously. And yes I did just figure this out. Not that the South lost the Civil War, mind you, just that they think they secretly won...
Ha Ha understood.Originally Posted by skillzilla

Either way people need to live the present and not wish for crap that didn't and never will happen.![]()
