The BIG question in october and november will be: Who do you trust enough to keep America safe?
And my answer would be obama. But back to point why are we in iraq we were lied too from the beginning about the weapons. I'm not sweating that tho because we did a good thing about getting saddam out, but we could have done that years ago in the gulf war when we were on the hunt for his ass and we were at the door when the first bush pulled out. so after we got him the second time there was no need for us to stay there. Why would i want another president supporting a war we do not need to be in anymore in iraq....other parts of the middle east is where we need to focus not iraq.

Because it is now our responsibility. I want to stay there because if we pull back now Iraq will go right back into the same position they were in before and all that we have worked for will have been for nothing.

see thats where i think that your wrong, iraq is not a responsibility. Our responsibility is to eliminate the threat to our country and get the **** out. we took out saddam and so now its up to that ****ty country to get their **** together. its not our job to help them. we have our own country and our own problems to worry about.

but see i agree with you, but with a kind of twist. if we pull out now with the kind of **** that still is going on down there, then our country once again wll not be safe. Iraq IS our problem now. I believe we have to at least get them rollin before check out. even if we have to force feed democracy down their throats, we all will be better off then.

Dr. G, I respect your opinion completely but this is my problem with conservatives. I voted for Bush, considered myself pretty conservative but I get tired of policies being built off of fear of the unknown. ANYTHING can happen at any given time, domestic security should be a priority but going into another country and attempting to establish order in a culture that does not accept ours with open arms is a lost cause.

How many resources have to be used and how many soldiers have to die before we realize we are hurting ourselves more than we are helping Iraq? Want to fight terrorism? Stop funding it, this means deal with energy independence, securing our boarders and build a stronger military here.. not in Iraq.

Good point but dems or conservs either party are going to create policies to protect from the unknown, theres nothing we can do about that. Those policies are precautions so we will be sfe. Its true i dont agree with the govt supposedly tapping phones and **** like that, but thats the govt abusing power; it happens. I also agree with you that its a shame that we have lost 3000+ soldiers, and i dont want to sound cold at all because i support our troops more than any other political form, but they new the risk when signing up to be in the armed forces and i cannot think of a more courageous person. And to your ss concern, i believe it will be here. illegal immigrants from a whole do not "use" our money from health care normally they either pay an arm or a leg for whatever servce they get or they dont get any at all. The number one reason for grady hospital being in such the condition and debt that there are in is largely from the homeless community and other people. dont get me wrong i am in no way protecting illegal immigrants, i believe that they shouldnt be here illegaly but if there was some billpassed where allof the were shipped back to mexico, india, africa, and other regions it would severely cripple our system. they have been in our system too long for us to just simply ship them back. and all this bull**** about "the illegals are taking our jobs" are just people bitching. i as well respect your opinions with a few others. this is what makes America great. GOD BLESS THE US!!!
To Destro_91 i agree with you, i hate that we are over there and i thank you for fighting for our great country ( assuming that you are military). but why did you sign up to be in the military?(again assuming that you are military?) to keep America safe right? well thats exactly what we are doing. I don't understand how people can believe that after we begin a war that it is that cut and dry and we can get out. We are still in vietnam, so what makes people believe that we can just pick up and go from a very hostile country? I honestly believe that McCain will be the best pres because he is a realist, he said in one of his speechs the other day when arnold officially said that he would support them that it might take 5, 10, or maybe even 50 years before we will be able to get out of the middle east. he doesnt bull**** people and tell them what they want to hear, he gives them the truth and that is what matters to me.

I hate the fact that we are still over there. I honestly feel we need to cut our losses and make the real people responsible for the war which is now suppose to be a peace keeping and rebuilding mission. I 've been to Iraq (twice) and the only difference between the deployments are the attitudes of the iraqi's and the rules of engagement. Granted, I'm not a general or someone in the "know", but what I do know is that we continue lose our own over there, and for what? Make me see the benefits of a US presence over there. Because I really don't see one.

you are right we haven't seen any benefits, and we won't. We were lied to which led us to this war, and I don't see where we have accomplished anything. Our men and women are dying daily for our country, and they shouldn't be over there. We keep feeding money into a war, that looks like it has no end. Also for all those people who agreed with Bush going to war, ya'll need to be shipped off to Cuba along with Bush to live the rest of your lives.
