My cousin went to a jiffy lube for a oil change and they wanted to charge him like $70

I worked at a Express Lube for about 2 months, while I worked at Bulldog Carwash in Athens for 8 months, anyway I quit after two months of being in the oil change bay, for this same reason.

that was from years ago.. but its so true. once i learned how to do stuff myself. you realize how easy it is to get away with stuff like that.
I cant watch the link, but I used to work at the J lube,. 40 bucks for an oil change is outrageous. and they were wondering why we werent doing 20+ cars a day like they wanted us to. And on top of that they only wanted to pay me 6.50 an hour? getting 40 bucks a car? I was the only certified emissions inspector there so as soon as I left, they had to shut it down. lol
i do notice alot of quick lube places like that arent around anymore... not as many now as there used to be.
im still baffled as to who would pay 40 bucks when all the stuff can be purchased for 10-15 bucks and done in 10-15 min

b/c it is only 15-20 bucks for materials. But at a shop, your paying to parts, labor, electicity, taxes, all sorts of stuff.

well when you can get cheaper oil changes at dealerships like toyota its not worth a qick lube place. because a dealership messes up and you are set. forget the oil or something you get a free engine. so on and so forth. quick lube would lie and say it wasnt them.
I'll go to my local econo lube if I don't have time to pick up parts or I'm in a hurry. They charge me $25..it's not that expensive and they're not too shabby
it may be cheaper, but i hope you dont think your oil change is going to be with any more care than it would at a jiffy lube. but yeah when they fuk up and you can pin it on them they fix it. but the reason small places would lie and say it wasnt them is cause when someone wants a new motor or knows their motor is bad, they will go there get a oil change because its jiffy lube they will not notice if their just changing the oil. then they leave make sure the motors crokes and put the blame on them.

lol i actually used to work at a Jiffy Lube. To the best of my knowledge we didn't do anything like that, but I know of plenty shops who have done things like that. Some places are really bad about not changing out oil filters when you get an oil change heh. Takes 5 seconds to pop one off and put a new one off, dunno why they are so lazy lol.

Always ask for your old parts back.... Thats what I do
