    Default If you plan to vote in 2008 READ THIS

    Obviously in 2008 there is a HUGE election, but there are some things that may seem like common sense to most but a lot do not know.

    First of all if you plan on voting in the Primaries to elect a candidate for your political party you will need to register at least 30 days before the election. Super Tuesday (the day that primary elections will take place) is February 5th, this means you will need to register to vote before January 7th.

    The Presidential election will be on November the 4th, again you will need to register to vote 30 days before the election or you will not be able to vote. That means don't bring your ass on IA complaining about the new president if you did not do your part. So you will need to register before October 6th.

    A lot of us here are in our 20's and candidates do not take our votes seriously as is, its a big election with a lot of consequences so as lame as this post may sound please at the least get out there and vote.

    If you are in Georgia and need to register to vote you can find the form here:

    http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/vot...Fill_2007).pdf

    If you are registering for the first time in Georgia you'll need to:

    - mail a copy of the identification with your voter registration application

    - providing a copy of the identification to the registrar during the absentee voting process.

    If you are mailing in your voter registration you will need to send a copy of one of the following:

    (1) A Georgia driver's license which was properly issued by the appropriate state agency;

    (2) A valid voter identification card or other valid identification card issued by a branch, department, agency, or entity of the State of Georgia, any other state, or the United States authorized by law to issue personal identification containing a photograph;

    (3) A valid United States passport;

    (4) A valid employee identification card containing a photograph of the elector and issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the United States government, this state, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state;

    (5) A valid United States military identification card containing a photograph of the elector;

    (6) a valid tribal identification card containing a photograph of the elector

    Contact your local county board of registrars' office or election office, public library, public assistance office, recruitment office, schools and other government offices for a mail-in registration form.

    College students can obtain Georgia voter registration forms, or the necessary forms to register in any state in the U.S., from their school registrar's office or from the office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

    You can also Register at the DMV

    Thanks

    no dont get out there and vote unless you are actually informed we already have enough women out there randomly voting we dont need a bunch of stupid kids doing the same. so if you dont know what the candidate is about just stay home.

    Why would you vote for Ron Paul? Because he has internet support?

    IMO, I hope Obama wins. He supports a lot of the stuff that gets Ron Paul all that internet support and other causes; removing taxes for seniors who make less than $50k/year, repealing tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of citizens, he supports more action in Darfur, he is pro choice (abortion), and restricting carbon emmissions from businesses. Sadly, Clinton is topping most "Who would you vote for in 2008?" polls everywhere.

    I don't want to insult you, but the chances of Ron Paul being a serious competitor in the election are slim. The main ordeal will likely be between Obama and Clinton.
