yea i read about that it says"

"Most of our customers (other than WiFi and Softphone customers) have access to either basic 911 or Enhanced 911 (E911) service. With E911 service, when you dial 911, your telephone number and registered address is simultaneously sent to the local emergency center assigned to your location, and emergency operators have access to the information they need to send help and call you back if necessary."

I had it for years without problems. The bill is about 33 dollars a month after taxes and fees. The 911 is a bit different, you enter your info on the Vonage website and if you ever need to use 911 Vonage will forward you to the 911 dispatcher based on the info you provide (as opposed to it being done automattically by the 911 service).

Now the reason I stopped using Vonage is because they lost 3 out of 5 patent lawsuits against Verizon. They may not be able to continue doing business the way they are now if the appeals and settlement doesnt go thier way. And could cuase a disruption of service. I did not want to lose my number if they went bankrupt, so I opted to switch my service. If I wasnt concerned about losing my number, I would still be with them.

They are in the appeals process right now. Vonage claims they have a workaround to maintain service if they do in fact lose their appeals. Unless you have a phone number that you absolutely dont want to risk losing, then get it. My Vonage service rarely had a problem.

I had Vonage, it was a good service, excellent value for sure, except for dropped calls left and right.

We had Vonage at my parents' house and it sucked. Never stayed connected, and it would drop faxes (the main reason we had it was to provide a landline for the fax machine). The customer support was only so so, as well.

And seriously.. in an emergency situation where you're dialing 911, do you have time to go online, put in your info, and wait?

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

You put your 911 info in when you set up the service, not when you have an emergency. Landlines and cellular service use Enhanced 911 which automatically gives the 911 dispatcher the address or location that is being called from. When you dial 911 from a Vonage phone, Vonage uses a fowarding system that manually sends the address that you have on your file.
