It is funny how America feels that the black culture should change to be ....I don't know....more American. They have a different way of life like other cultures. Alot of my friends won't and some will never except that. It is weird. And it doens't matter what topic there is somewhat of a difference.
I don't ever pretend to know what it's like to be in their shoes - I'm a firm believer of you're a product of your environment, and I believe this to be true in 90% of the cases. I doubt anyone would say that having a disproportionate amount of blacks below the poverty line and in trouble with the law is black culture - of course, many of them never had the chances you or I had, but at the same time, I believe they need to take responsibility for their own problems, instead of blaming everything on "the man" and have this "the world wants us to fail" attitude. This lady was wildly entertaining, but she blamed all of the problems of on child abuse laws and "the man" - cmon, these laws apply to everyone, and there is certainly a difference between punishing your child and abusing your child. Her way of thinking does nothing but holds back blacks from advancing in society. Btw, I actually am on the left idealogically, just don't agree with the implementation or method of some of the programs that's set up to help African Americans currently.
