lets say this work we get everyone to boycott exxon and mobil. So the demand for exxon and mobil gas has gone waaaay down. Will this drive the price down?? If what you planned is working then people will not go back to exxon and mobil for a while and so lowering the price for them wont put them back into profitability. Also They will not lower the price to a point where they wont make moeny they would rather just stop selling gas. Its better not to make money or lose money.. than lose money.

Also if everyone is jsut buying the other gas.. due to an increase in their demand will the prices go down? Hopefully it would make sense.. except that If i knew that you are gonna buy my gas even if the exxon guy is cheaper just because your boycotting them then i am not going to lower my prices.. if your boycotting them u dont have much of a choice eh? Also what if BP isnt large enough to supply the extra demand? It would create a supposed fuel shortage.. in which case the price of gas would go WAAY up.

if the price at bp went up.. or wasnt going down people would jsut go back to exxon.. and if exxon see's this and knows this they would raise their gas prices back up.. so in the end.. nothing would have changed.. except for the few weeks of trying something like this, you drove out of your way to another gas station instead of the nearby exxon or mobil.

Also since this isnt a machine run, logical system. if your trying to boycott me *OPEC* then im goign ot just be a bitch also and drop oil production and raise your prices so high your gonna scream murder.. yeah they can play this game too btw..

also if exxon decides to raise their price to 10.00$ a gallon.. and mobil does.. then bp will probably raise their prices to 9.97.. hey i mean then bp is still cheaper right?

The price war isnt always whoc an go lower and lower.. its how high can i raise my prices and be slightly cheaper than someone else.

No company is going to offer you their lowest price just to be nice or because they can.. their going to squeeze every penny for profit they can.
