I don't think that you could have a "white" history month because there are SOOOOO many differen't white cultures that span over Hundreds and thousands of years. Which is impossible to fit into one month. In Contrast, black history month only focuses on the relatively short period of time from the late 1800's untill now. Also, it only focuses on Blacks in America, not anywhere else in the world.

Personally I don't really care what a month is called, but the problem with black history month or any race history month is that it gives special attention to a single race which in itself is racism.

When I was in school I was taught about contributions from people of all races throughout history all year long, yet for that one month we had to focus on one race. Yes, thats racism at work, and it is contributing to keeping racism alive just as much as any other race issue.

I agree with the man in QD's post 110%. If you think you deserve special treatment because something that happened to people that share your race over 140 years ago, then you need to grow up. Hell, even 50 years ago.

I agree with you on that. Fuck special treatment/ repreations or whatever. But does it really bother people that much that there is a black history month? Oh well get over it. Does it interfere with you living a normal life? Read some of the jokes in this thread. Yeah they are all in fun, but its still offensive and it hurts. Like i said in my other post, I'm over slavery, but I still feel that racism is present to this day.

EX. My family owns a funeral home. There is a cemetery that is split into sections; one for blacks, and one for whites, and its been this way since the 1800's. NO one has tried to change it. Well one day last year me and my grandfather are prepping a site near the back right corner of the yard (where there are graves from as far back as th 1950's) when a worker from the other side comes up to us and says that we have been burying nigger bodies on his side of the cemetery, and he wants them out. And that us "Stupid niggers" need to learn how to read. Basically we told him to stfu, cuz we weren't looking for problems.

I don't know If any of you have ever been called a racial slur, or looked down upon because of your color, but that is the worst feeling in the world. And i wouldn't wish that on anyone.
