Batlground: We won't be posting our builds on IA as much anymore.

We have a lot that goes on at our shop that we love to share, but we aren't into having to defend why we are posting it. We decided after all of the drama that erupted from us posting our work here on the forum a while back that we would get our blog together and post our work, thoughts, opinions and gossip there. It is now all up and working perfectly, so we are set to go. If you want to read it, you can subscribe to the blog.

Don't get me wrong, we will still post here as usual. We may even post up some of the extra cool stuff going on at the shop, but MOST of our builds and such will go on the blog. We have been here a long time and love IA and trust me, you will still get ALL of my opinions as usual. So, don't get too excited.

Oh thanks man. I am debating on what direction we should take the blog in. We will definitely be posting out builds and dyno charts, but we want to have more fun than that.

I have a few q's.

1) Why build something that you can't defend (or won't)??? At the end of the day the details should be worked out between the shop and the customer, not "the internet" or other shops that felt that they could have done it differently/better. If the customer is educated and happy then every1 else should STFU. The customer obv chose BG when there are lots of places to choose from.

2) If the customer doesn't mind the info being put out, then why not post it here?

3) Posting info in a neutral site like this is more of a smart marketing ploy than a site where you can control all content (gripes/bashses/etc).

And finally - I'm subscribed. LOL

1. I said I didn't want to defend WHY we are posting it here—not defend the work itself. You have been around long enough to know we have no probs defending our work or processes. If I have 3 or 15 projects a day that I want to post up, I don't want to have to answer to 3/4 of IA as to why I am "spamming" the forum that I pay to sponsor. I don't want to be told where I can and can't post and I don't want to have to post in a section of the forum where it gets basically 0 traffic and I don't want to be told I can only make 3 posts a day pertaining to the topic of our builds or work.

2. We never post any info the customer doesn't approve of first either way. See above for the rest of the answer.

3. In all actuality, it is a better "marketing ploy" (if that's what it was) to send all of the hits to our own site rather than a 3rd party. There are things such as pay per click, ad sense, etc. that could potentially generate more income. Why would I not want to drive traffic to my own site?

In addition, I am trying to make our site a news and tech resource, thus making it a better place to post for us. Our site is a place where I don't have to worry about someone talking about b00bs and n00bs in a thread that was intended to stay on topic. That is not to say that I will moderate comments that are not favorable to us. I will address them just as I have always done on every forum I am a member of.

Lastly, if we have updated content on our site with a readership, it will make it easier for us to obtain sponsorship, also adding to the fact that it is better for us to post on our own site.
