Hey chris, I think you answered me already, but I forgot...What kind of power are you making?
@ 8lbs 185hp and 195tq
with boost controller on stock turbo i'll be at 12 or 13lbs.
Boost controller and D/P will put me at 200 and 220 hopefully
The CT27 is a CT26(stock turbo) upgrade and is a direct replacement for stock turbo.... its inexpensive too!! can get a used one for 500 or less and that will put me over 300 with current mods, boost controller, and DP
idk if you'll get 300 from it i know tigerJC had alot of **** on his mr2 and it didnt get no where near 300HP also get with Mike from batlground he seems to have some good mr2 parts for ya
the problem with getting 300whp out of the mr2 especially on the 2nd gen motor is that the fuel system can't handle it

I could have rolled the dice and threw some supra injectors in there and went with the safc, I could have made 300 on pump but I am not willing to risk my motor. MR CONTROLS is your best resource for info on how to make power.
I don't like blowing motors, so I play it real safe

The fuel system isnt the greatest, but I honestly hate the fact you can't reliably run a piggy back on these 2nd gensOriginally Posted by redGT
The biggest problem is the engine management system. 2nd gens do not respond very well to piggy backs, so there is only really two ways to go. Ats Rome tune or AEM OR Mr control engine management system
Yea 2nd gen fuel system is ****ty when it comes to Fuel rail and fuel pump. But that is not that expensive as compared to going stand alone aem. I went with a walbro and a wolfkatz side fuel rail, but can get a cheaper fuel rail from ats.

In Tanks defense I don't think he meant it like that you know how he is he don't remember ****.Originally Posted by TIGERJC
But yea when I was looking at buying this car 300whp was gonna be my goal and themore and more research I did the more I was discouraged by the fact that you can't run a piggy back on this car. i have seen reasonable success with the supra injectors as it seemed a good number of people were running them on the mr2 boards but it's still risky.

I figure you would know the answer to this.Originally Posted by TIGERJC
Why is it that these cars are risky to run in the rain? I kept seeing all these threads about people getting water in their distributors and stuff. you would think toyota would have made the car to run in any weather

the only ppl that have problems with driving in the rain are the ppl that take off the heavy rain guard thats underneath the engine hood. I never had a problem with water, I just hated driving it in the rain when I had stock suspension on.Originally Posted by redGT

no no man dont get it twisted no disrespect was being said man, i jsut remember all the time and work you put into your 2 and it never got over 300 thats why i told him that. Mike is selling a AEM EMS system for the 3sgte and i think right now that would be chris's best bet right off. then he can hit up the kit you posted. believe me i remember how much a prick you was about having the 2 in perfect running shape and not cutting corners on it and if it didnt run 110% it didnt leave your driveway lol anyhow the EMS is a major step manOriginally Posted by TIGERJC

i dont need a standalone..... not on a stock JDM motor. The mapped ECU works just fine. Boost controller, DP, and new I/C is first 3 mods for the motor. Then just gonna go with the ATS combo kit.
first i need some wheels and new suspension lol
Im loving the LSD btw.... i try and get sideways and the car first goes sideways then just straightens itself out!! i love it!!![]()
just ordered my new turbo.....
well imma tell ya the EMS opens alot of avenues on tuning with cars it's one of the few many things i love about my car but let me know how your setup works man so far your doing a great job so far pimp.Originally Posted by ©hris
AAAAHHHHH ok I always figured it was some kind of stupid thing someone removed cause it's not like toyota to build a car that cant be driven 365 days a year no matter what the weatherOriginally Posted by TIGERJC
