D16A6 Engine Question

Simple question: is the D16A6 motor found in and '88 CRX Si and different than the ones found in the '89-91 CRX/Civic Si cars? Need to know so that I don't fail tech for some reason because teh '88 motor is slightly (or even cosmetically) different. Thanks.

ones got 106 hp and one has 108 hp but im not sure why the 2 hp difference is

88'-89' 105 HP 90'- 108 HP
3HP difference.

Is the difference from the OEM software or are some of the parts just (ever so slightly) different?

I thought it was the ECU

i dont know what the HP difference s from but im sure its like a small bump in compression somewhere or maybe the ecu or something small like that

they are cosmetically the same. its likely a difference in the computer, they did change from the 88-89 and 90-91 model. or possibly cams but it still isnt a cosmetic difference.
